Did you stop reading it because you lost interest in it? I feel if I start a book, I should finish it - unless it's horribly bad.

I have, The Almost Moon, on my coffee table to read. Please let me know how you like it. It did get mixed reviews but I thought, The Lovely Bones, was so well done that I thought I'd give, The Almost Moon, a try.

The Children's Blizzard, by David Laskin

I just started reading, My Sister's Keeper, by Jodi Picoult. The movie is coming out soon and I thought I'd better get it read before seeing it. So many people have liked this book. I enjoy how Picoult changes narrators so you get all of the main characters perspectives.

Hi! My name is Kathy and I'm from LaSalle, Il. I've been a school librarian/media specialist in Seneca, Il. for the past 32 years! I'm closing in on retirement - but I still love my job! I have been married for close to 30 years, have 3 grown daughters (one is a Twitter personality!), 2 cats (Morgan & Maddie), and a wonderful border collie, Jewel. I love all types of books! Whenever I read a great review that title goes into my "to-read" list. I'm slowly but surely adding to my GoodReads! I'm also a diehard Cub fan! I have been part of a local bookclub for the past 8 years. It's a group of my friends I've known since grade school!

I read The Handmaid's Tale many years ago. I was reading everything by Margaret Atwood at the time. This one was quite different than anything I had ever read before. I wasn't one to read futuristic type books but it held my interest to the end.

I sat down one evening and read it from start to finish! I am always loaning out my copy! I read Vanishing Acts, by Jodi Picoult shortly afterwards and found them somewhat similar.

I'm currently reading, The Northern Clemency, by Philip Hensher. It was short-listed for the Man Booker Prize. This is our bookclub book for the monthe of March. I'm finding it very interesting. It's about two families who live in the same neighborhood in Sheffield in northern England. It begins in 1974 and spans two decades. The Glover family is pretty disfunctional and the Sellers family have recently moved into the neighborhood. I'm only one-fourth through the book. Looks promising!
