I read The Great Gatsby before I read The Double Bind and would highly suggest you do that as it helps with the references that are in the book. I read the book for my neighborhood book club and we all liked it and had some great topics to discuss. I know the reviews on Goodreads are mixed, but I found it hard to put down, esp. the last couple hundred pages. Wanted to see if I had solved the mystery!
