Hi Marialyce, Alice & Rick! Glad to have you aboard!

Hope you enjoy Katherine! I read that one in 2010 and liked it very much.

There's a whole 'nother challenge out there for "Wishlist" TBRs--books you want to read but don' own. I (being something of a challenge addict) have signed up for that one too....Here's the info if anybody's interested:

Welcome, Kim! Laura has turned into my PR person. :-)

Welcome Darkpool & Karen! Good luck with your mountains.

Everybody's lists are shaping up nicely! So glad to see that I'm not the only one with piles of books that need reading.

I don't mean to be difficult, but I haven't put this together as a general "book discussion" page--it's a challenge, aimed at making us stretch ourselves a bit to meet goals. I chose the mountain theme on purpose--it's deliberately aimed at anyone who has mountains of TBR books that they want to get taken care of and meant to give them incentive to tackle them. And twelve books isn't all that much for a challenge. One book per month.
If we wind up discussing the books, then that's a bonus (and certainly welcome)--but not the point of what I've proposed. There are lots of discussion postings where you can just discuss the books you're able to read at whatever pace you'd like. Or if there isn't one that suits your tastes, then you always have the option of setting up a discussion group of your own.

Welcome, Donna, Hayes, Amreeta, and Chris (and anyone else that I might have missed so far)! Glad to have you joining in.

I am an old-fashioned, gotta have a real book in my hand kind of girl. I don't have an e-reader and have no plans to get one. I spend a lot of time on electronic equipment at work and I want my reading for pleasure to be a totally different experience. Plus--for me--there's something about going into a bookstore (normally used--because my first love is vintage mysteries) and finding a copy of the book sitting on the shelf waiting for me to take it home. Clicking on a computer/e-reader button and ordering it up just isn't the same.

Hi, Geevee! Well...if you manage to conquer a stack equal to Mt. Olympus, we may have to come up with a special prize for you. :-)

Abbey, it's fine if you just want to post here. And no problem on the typo (you should be able to go in and edit your post...does that option show up for you?

It is great to meet you Bev. Thanks for starting a good group. I do have a feeling however that my Mountain TBR will only grow as I see other's list of books as new additions...."That does seem to be the way it works.... :-)

I thought so, but I'm serious about more levels. Maybe one in between 50 and 75 & then another in between 75 and 100. Possibly upping the highest peak to 150. I'm going to see how this year's reading goes. If I can knock out 100 of my own books pretty quickly, then I'll know I want to up the highest level.

Welcome, Geevee! And, yes, two down towards twelve is a great start!

Yes...when I saw that Bettie had already read over a hundred, I had to double-check my reading. And my family thinks I read a lot.... :-)
