I really enjoyed the book and thought some of the charm of the book was lost due to the limitations of movie-making. I think I gave the book 4-stars, but only gave the movie 2-stars (out of 5).
I was completely hooked by Niffenegger's prose. I literally couldn't put the book down and my husband graciously fed and otherwise cared for our children for the day-and-a-half I spent reading it.

Whedon's next project being released later this year is "Much Ado About Nothing." Writer/Director again... I get a little nervous when people try their hand at The Bard, but he has the right attitude for this particular play, I think (HOPE!).

I started watching Once Upon A Time, but I had to make room on my DVR and cleared it. I'll have to get the DVD in August when it's released and watch the whole thing. My favorite shows from the past are X Files, Lost, Remington Steele, The West Wing and Seinfeld.

LOL I am so with you on the Stewart/Hemsworth math. Too funny!
If you like Chris Hemsworth, you should see "The Cabin in the Woods." I think everyone should see "The Cabin in the Woods," but it does have Hemsworth in it and he's particularly juicy in it. The film was made quite a while ago, but shelved due to issues with the studio changing hands and coming to terms with distributors, etc.

I didn't even know they were making "The Raven" a movie..hmmm...have to check that out! AS far as Avengers...I'll watchi it cause IronMan is in it...but, I'm no Marvel gal! :)..."
Speaking of good kids movies, "Brave" will be out June 22nd. I'm really looking forward to that one. It's Pixar, so I can't lose.

I want to see The Avengers, for SURE. I'm not sure about Dark Shadows - sometimes I love Tim Burton and others, he leaves me a bit unsatisfied or simply confused.

I've done that!

I get in this predicament from time to time. I like to read some books audio-style and I never (or hardly ever) buy audio-books. I am trying to read the entire Agatha Christie published works and so many are available as audio-books, but they're hard to get, so I'll order a few at a time. Of course, they all come in at the same time.

My local library has a kindle-edition of "The Fellowship of the Ring" available for download, so you may not have to "find" your local library beyond applying for a library card! Once you have your card, depending on the system used by said library, you should be able to borrow e-books and kindle books from your home computer. I have done this LOADS of times... so easy!

*cough* Hello, my name's Hayley and I'm a book buyer addict. It was 2 months in between me buying a book but then I f..."
Haha!
Speaking of not controlling myself, I just pre-ordered J.K. Rowling's new book, "The Casual Vacancy." I have no idea what it's supposed to be about, but I look forward to enjoying it, whatever IT is. :)

I feel like this book club is a bit like a book-buyers anonymous because we obviously buy lots of books and don't read them, otherwise books would not become "dusty."
I'm reading The Red Pyramid right now. Technically, it could count towards my dusty book challenge, but it's not on the list. At least I haven't read it already!

Thanks!"
Well, unless you're going to take a class in Olde English, your going to need to trust some translation or cliffs/Sparks notes interpretation. I suggest reading whatever editorial or critical editions you can and then draw your own conclusions from there. This is what I had to do when I read Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and Beowulf: A New Verse Translation.

Oh, definitely! Sometimes it's hard to find the original published version for some books, have you ever noticed that? Anywho, I already read audio unabridged.

I tend to buy books that I think will be good for me like old tomes and classics, but I find it really hard to motivate myself to actually read them. And the sad thing is, I usually really like them! I don't know what my problem is. LOL

If you don't know the ISBN#, you can go to a retailer like Amazon or Barnes & Noble and if it is in print (or even used, on B&N) you can copy and paste it into the search browser on Goodreads. You can also search for books on those other sites and directed on how to import it yourself.

Spoilers! The first book and first season are nearly identical - I'm hoping they do the same with the second series!
