I've always been a big fan of the Time Vortex Manipulator, and lets not forget the sonics ;)

(view spoiler)[Amy's shot had missed and she, Rory, and River spend three months searching for the creatures — later revealed to be called Silence — while the Doctor and the TARDIS are held in Area 51 by Canton. The group reunites and discuss the Silence, which have been found throughout America and have the ability to implant post-hypnotic suggestions in the humans they encounter. While the Doctor tampers with Apollo 11, Amy and Canton visit a Silence-infested orphanage where the little girl was kept. Amy sees a woman with an eye-patch through a hatch and finds a picture of herself with a baby in the little girl's room before she is kidnapped by the Silence. Canton wounds a Silent in the Doctor's prison and records it taunting him, "you should kill us all on sight". The Doctor tracks down Amy in the Silence's base and shows them the live broadcast of the moon landing. He implants Canton's recording of the Silence into the footage, thereby instructing all humans watching it to turn on the Silence when they see them. Later, Amy tells the Doctor that she was afraid travelling on the TARDIS would have an effect on the possible development of her child; Amy denies that she is actually pregnant but the Doctor initiates a scan, the result of which is inconclusive. Three months later in New York City, the little girl is dying but reveals that she can regenerate, a trait of which only the Time Lords are capable. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Amy and Rory and River Song receive invitations to the Utah desert where they meet the Doctor, who claims to be nearly 200 years older than when they had last seen him and says that he will take them to "Space: 1969". As they dine beside Lake Silencio they witness an unknown figure in a spacesuit kill the Doctor and are then met by an old man called Canton Everett Delaware III (William Morgan Sheppard), who had also been invited. They meet a younger version of the Doctor who had been invited and land in the Oval Office in 1969, where they are enlisted by President Nixon (Stuart Milligan) to assist a younger version of Canton (Mark Sheppard) in saving a terrified little girl (Sydney Wade) from a mysterious spaceman. The Doctor traces her to a warehouse in Florida where they investigate, unaware that the warehouse contains creatures which they forget after looking away from. After Amy tells the Doctor she is pregnant, the little girl appears in a spacesuit and Amy shoots at her. (hide spoiler)]

As many of you are already aware, Sunday saw the premiere of the 50th anniversary trailer at Doctor Who’s Comic-Con panel.

Reportedly this trailer was going to appear online, but as yet has failed to materialise. Understandably many fans are disappointed and upset, wondering just what is going on.

The bad news then, the BBC today told the RadioTimes: “This was an exclusive Comic Con trailer made especially for the Doctor Who 50th panel.”

However, it’s not all bad news: “UK fans can look forward to exclusive content over the next few months,” they added.

Granted this isn’t what the fans want to hear as the internet doesn’t like to wait for anything, especially when the trailer sounds so mouth-wateringly incredible.

It would have been nice if the BBC had released for all at the same time, especially for this 50th anniversary year, but that’s just the way it is.

Many will remember that this exact same situation occurred last year when the Series 7 clips were not released. A couple of weeks later a new trailer was released online. So perhaps we won’t have long to wait.

Daleks Return for the 50th ... is this showing the Time War??

Doctor Who composer Murray Gold believes that the 50th anniversary might prove controversial.

In a lengthy interview at Den of Geek he said: “There’s some really interesting things to say about that but I can’t say them. It’s very, very well directed. There’s a thing they’ve done in it, which might be controversial… It’s interesting though.”

Perhaps this is something to do with John Hurt’s Doctor and the numbering?

He revealed that some Tennant themes will return: “I had this really weird nostalgic feeling – and you have to bear in mind I am not good at revisiting my own past being reminded of where I was three years ago, onwards is my motto. So, suddenly being where I am now, used to seeing Matt on screen and then suddenly seeing David there. Definitely gonna use some music that is resonant of David’s time.”

Asked for his thoughts on Matt Smith’s departure: “I thought, ‘Well that means a lot of work!’ [Laughs] I thought, ‘Oh my god, are we really not going to hear I Am The Doctor again?’ [Laughs] I instantly began to think. ‘Could we use it for the next one as well?’ Does it maybe capture something eternally Doctorish, does it have to not be there ever again until Matt appears again, as hopefully one day he will, on some new version of the multi-Doctor story. Are we never going to hear I Am The Doctor again until the 60th? If we don’t, then what follows it has to be stronger. I think that, in a way, I Am The Doctor is stronger than the themes Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant had. So, I was thinking those thoughts.”

Gold said he hasn’t thought about the music for Smith’s regeneration yet: “Because that’s the only part of whatever the Christmas Special will be that we’ve had music for before. I’ve written music for regeneration sequences. If it ends up being an hour-long episode then I get about fifty minutes of music with the National Orchestra of Wales. If the episode becomes one hour fifteen [minutes], for example, usually have to find fifteen/twenty minutes of music from some other source other than the most recent session. So, if there was a regeneration sequence and I was short of orchestra music, I might fill it from another regeneration sequence, the music I mean. I still think the regeneration music in episode thirteen, series one [Bad Wolf] is the regeneration music.

He adds: “I just don’t know how it’s gonna happen. Vale Decem could not have been written without a walk through the snow with an Ood sent to lead him to his death. I don’t know what Steven’s [Moffat] gonna do. Maybe it’ll all be chat and talk and then a regeneration, and sound effects – certainly won’t be room for a song. It just depends how Steven writes it. I’m sure he’s aware that there’s potential for something musical. Nudge, nudge!”

Gold says he’s thought about the 12th Doctor’s theme: “I think it should maybe link to the Eleventh Doctor’s theme somehow. If there was a way of doing that, though I just have to wait and see… I don’t know if I can top I Am The Doctor. Maybe it can metamorphose somehow. I don’t know what’s out there, imaginatively – maybe there’s something that will come to mind. Again, it depends who’s cast. And how the first episode looks.”

Gold intends to return for Series 8 saying: “There’s still nothing better to write for.”

When DWM reported that no classic Doctors would be back in the 50th anniversary special, many fans were left disappointed.

Now, Steven Moffat has explained why there will not be a “traditional massive reunion” this time around.

Asked about other Doctors appearing, Moffat said in EW magazine: “You’ll have to watch, won’t you? People say, “Are you going to do the 11 Doctors?” We can’t do 11 Doctors! Three of them are dead!

“What we’re not doing is the traditional massive reunion. It’s a different kind of anniversary, and the spine of that is David and Matt.”
