58421 Here is my review (Polish edition) the last time I read it a year ago: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I hope they translate the French book, my French is very very basic, no way I would be able to get through a novel...."

There are other of his novels translated and from the reviews most of them appear to be very good. I got this one only because I needed an audiobook for a challege and this one sounded best from what my library had at that point available and it was a real winner - even better than the Agatha Christie I had preordered and got two days later but could use for a different challenge :-)
58421 I reached my original goal of 75 sometime in the first qauarter - though as soon as I reached 50 I raised it to 100 and than a second time to 200 a few weeks ago.

This year I shelved another three books so far to my favorites:
Nacht im Central Park by Guillaume Musso (no English translation yet, original French) genre-mix drama, suspense, romance
Knight & Play (Knight, #1) by Kitty French erotica
Fiancée for Hire (Front and Center, #2) by Tawna Fenske romantic comedy (book 2 in series)

Last year I was also desperately looking for an autor beginnin with X and got Diana Xarissa recommended. She writes cozy mysteries her first series is the Isle of Man cozy mystery series (Aunt Bessie) and the both spin-offs the Markham Sisters and the Isle of Man romance series.

Last year I was just browsing the lists of other participants (also from previous years to find out what they read with this letter, but most let it be)

Since I have only one title beginning with the letter X and read it for last year's challenge that the one I'm stuggling more with :-)

Cool, it's also my first participation in this group BOTM and dicussion though I participated in some other groups discussions and read-alongs already.

If you are interested in a book pal for Persuation just give me a shout. Since it's my favorite of Austen's books I'm always looking for a reason to re-read it and get different views of this great story :-)

58421 updated message 39 => Finished: 14/30 books & 3,766/5,000 pages

The pages won't be an issue - but I should have gone with the first for books I wanted to commit (25) 30 will be really tight
58421 I love this book. Since I've read it twice within the last year I'm not sure I'll read it again, even if I got this new edition I'm really looking forward to check out : Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
I'll join the discussion as often as I can for sure :-)

You welcome - my first and only survey was also a mess - so I learned something from it :-)

58421 Done :-)

Comment fields are often helpful (either one for entire survey form or for particular qauestions - if you think there could be some additional information / clarification needed or valuable) but they make the work for you much more difficult - especially the evaluation.

58421 Is there a page restriction for the books - some challenges have? If I can include all the small stuff too (small stuff for me are: fiction less than 80 pages and non-fiction less than 50 pages) I need to raise my goal significantly. I'm reading many shorter stories when I can't concentrate or need something different in-between ;-)
