51477 Almost done with Burn Bright (Alpha & Omega, #5; Mercy Thompson World - Complete, #15) by Patricia Briggs and it’s making me miss Mercy.

I really didn’t think I would enjoy them as much as I do since I’m not a huge Nick fan in the regular series but it’s a good back story.

Both of those have really good reviews Amanda. Good picks.

That’s exciting Sylvia. I love finding a good series but hate waiting for all of them to come out.

I haven’t heard of this series Jenny. It looks interesting though. Perhaps I should check them out. I didn’t read the description but they look YA sci-fi?

That stinks Victoria. At least you are enjoying CoTaR! I really enjoyed that one as well.

Welcome to the club Pam and no 50+ is not to old for YA.

I think a lot of kids go through similar things Laura. I went through a spell when I was 15 and looking back on it now I try really hard to understand. I didn't try to kill myself but I had some painful issues that I just couldn't deal with so I thought physical pain would be more bearable. At that age you are so unaware of the finality of it and the consequences.

I’m sure it does since it deals with suicide. My son watched the last 4 episodes with me and he said that’s not how high school is. Of course he is living that situation now and he is happy with his life so he can’t really understand why people do those things. I think watching shows like this shows kids that there are some people that aren’t in his place in life. Not everyone is happy. His cousin committed suicide when she was 17 and he just can’t wrap his head around why she would have any reason to do that. Anyway, didn’t mean to go on so much about that but the series just brings the situation to people’s attention.

Defending Jacob was a mediocre book for me....until the end. I was so shocked and had some kind of feelings when I was done.

I will need to give it another go. Since I am such a mood reader I’m sure that’s why I didn’t stick with it. I have seen the trailer as well. Isn’t that how the book goes? Isn’t he in a game or something?

I read the book as well Laura and like you it wasn’t very good for me. I actually don’t remember the book in detail just that it had the same concept as the series.

I will have to check out Handmaidens Tale. Is it on Netflix?

51477 I just binge watched 13 Reasons Why. There were some touching moments and some that I can’t see why she would do what she did. I felt as if she was just trying to make some of them feel guilty. It’s hard to be a teenager sometimes.
