Tara avoided his eyes and nodded, "Good for you."

"No," She whisped. "What about you?"

Tara sighed and looked out at the sea.

"I don't know. Thinking I guess."

"I could have." She said, swinging her feet.

"Well, thanks but I can take care of myself."

She scowled and called, "I was handling things."

She laughed. "I've been fighting full grown men since I was ten. Get out now while you still have your dignity."

"Ya smell like rum and bum. Now git."

She scowled at him. "Shoo."

Tara climbed the rigging up to the fore top, to be alone.

"It's okay. It's happened before."

She gave him a half smile and continued to look at the others.

In the end Tara only sported a few cuts and new bruises. She wiped sweat from her eyes as she watched the pirates clean out the beaten ship.

"Then why are doing it?" she told him, dodging a fist. "Just give me the knife, ya gonna leave me defenseless?" She pushed him out of the way of someone hurtling toward him with a sword, taking the dagger from him in the same motion. "Watch my back! I watch yours!"

"What you have to do is get to safty." She mocked. "Where's the fun in that!" She picked up a small sword, a dagger really, and joined the fight.
