I didn't see a lending option either, and the library was a long wait list. I'm being very lazy with reading sorry I'll try to step it up

I can only think of Maeve Binchy, all her books are set there.

I'm buying it for the kindle app, someone will have to explain how to lend from there as I have no clue how to do that but I'm willing to learn and lend.

That sounds good, I'll read Labor Day, anyone else?

I'm wildkitties and haven't posted in ages on the the board but used to, sorry. I also haven't read a book in awhile, for that I should be truly sorry and ashamed of. I love to read but just haven't lately, no reason, just got away from it. I keep downloading books but not reading them.

Hmm, maybe we should pick a book that will soon be made into a movie? Or better yet one that has already been made into one that most of us have seen so that we can compare them.

I liked The Help, on my nook I noticed today they had it listed as The Hero, I was completely confused and thought she had written a new book I forgot I downloaded.

I go through stages in reading, there are times I read nonstop and other times I can't find a thing that interests me. Now is one of those times I can't find a thing plus I'm addicted to an iphone game.
I liked Room. May start the Outlander series next.

Hi David, That is the formatting issue, there were no lines and it didn't flow as well. But seeing as how I've had these issues before I had assumed it was formatting and not the writing :-). I have a nook and downloaded it from smashwords.
I hope the book does very well as I would love to read the other books. And anything else that you write.

I read it, I liked it. I think the formatting was off though on my ebook, it seemed to jump from one thing to another unless that's how he wrote it.
I liked the book, I will read the rest of the series There will be more right - I mean he can't leave it like that, I want to know what happens.

oh, what about the title? and the quote they used in the book that no one would explain to her, sorry I don't have the book handy so I can't copy it here.

I pretty much agree with all thats been said so far. I loved the town and big old house and liked Flavia. I thought she sounded a bit old at times and a bit too much but I let a lot go in books. I didn't see this as a great mystery at all, just more like an adventure for her.

I'm ready. What did you think? I don't want to say too much yet though if we're not all done the book

I'm almost finished but will be away this weekend. And the lovely nook is acting up, grr, so I can't read it. I'm hoping to be able to finish and chat about it early next week. I can discuss the book up to page 200 or so if anyone would like.

Just started Sweetness, so far an easy read. I'm ready to chat about it whenever anyone else is.

I just finished another Harry Bosch book, I didn't realize that the author Michael Connelly puts characters from his other books into other series. So now I want to read all his books. In order that they were written of course.
Just started Water for Elephants and almost finished it in one day. I had to go to bed last night and forced myself to put it down. I know should have seen the movie first though, I'm going to be disappointed now.

I'll start with Sweetness, I just downloaded that from the library and then I'll buy the other book. What's our time frame?

I always found Michener to be challenging, you may need something light afterward. Congrats on the Kindle!

sounds good to me.

I'm in, don't care which book it is as long as I can get it on the nook.
