I gave up on pirates like 2 movies ago. I don't want a reboot. Of course given how much money that franchise has made them, I'm sure they feel the market is there for a reboot.
Edit: Ah, it's 20th century fox. So now it's owned by Disney I guess. I wonder how they are going to handle all of that stuff.
Will they follow Warner Brothers and consolidate everything, or just consolidate the Marvel stuff and leave the rest of Fox's IPs to be run by someone in charge of "fox"

Maybe they'll re-release all 4 novellas as 1 cheaper omnibus eventually like they did for Binti: The Complete Trilogy

I could keep talking about this forever because I find the whole thing annoying.
So more back on subject, one thing I love about the books that I didn't realize at the time is Harry is born in 1980, so I would have been at Hogwarts the same time as he was.
I think I'd have been a first year during the terror of Sirius Black (ie Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban)

Then again Guiermo Del Toro might have had plans, but it took so long to greenlight that sequel that he was no longer involved..
So really I'd only want a sequel if the same people are involved.

I'm honestly not holding out much hope, but hey we got a Pacific Rim sequel (although now I kind of wish we hadn't)

Honestly many days I feel I have more in common with Gen X-ers than I do with millennials.
I've seen various articles call 1980-85 a "micro generation" including one that called us the Oregon Trail generation. I'm sure the same thing happened to people born between the Boomers and Gen Xers and will happen again with whatever we're call the generation after millennials.

Tom and Veronica do seem to be using that bumper less lately. Conspiracy to suppress the truth!?

I hope we get sequels, I really want to see what's next.

Every so often I have to add the designated book prefix, and a bit more often I have to tag the post with the book, but mostly I have the members better trained (all part of my evil plans to take over S&L and then the world!)
Glad you're feeling better Veronica.

Sword: 7/40 (18% complete, 1% ahead)
Laser: 4/20 (20% complete, 4% ahead)
Comics: 3/10 (30% complete, 14% ahead)
This month I've added +3 Sword, 0 Laser, 1 Graphic novel. Part of that is due to a bunch of January/February Sword releases and partly because I'm doing some non-fiction and a mystery book lately.
For March I'll add at least 1 Sword and 1 Laser. Probably more Sword as there are some additional series new releases I haven't gotten to yet. I may continue on with the mystery series though, which would slow down progress on all the challenges.
I don't think I have any Graphic Novels coming out soon. With G. Willow Wilson's run of Ms. Marvel ending and Saga on hiatus, I'm not sure if I'll hit my goal of 10 at this rate. I do want to finish Y the last man at some point but I haven't been able to get the next volume from my library and have resorted to Inter-library loan but that's not seeming to be coming through :(
Incidentally, my Graphic novel challenge said I had only read 2 until I clicked on it. Then when I refreshed the challenge page it showed 3. I wonder if that is part of the issues we've seen with the challenge completions. It probably also messed up the numbers I collect each month too.

So February is in the books and all of our challenges continued to grow in participation. The Sword challenge has narrowed the lead on the number of participants down to just 2 people.
We'll see how much participation grows as the year goes on. Last year we had our biggest surges in January/February. This year we're advertising the challenges more often, but are now behind the numbers we saw last year by about 60 people.
The Sword challenge also continues to pull ahead on both the number of books committed and number read. However at this point neither challenge in on pace to hit the the numbers (8,500/7,000) we saw last year, let alone the 10k mark.
Instead Sword is looking with 5,200 and Laser with 4,700. 60 fewer participants will do that to you though..
