I decided for the rest of the year (and likely moving forward in January) to do a thread per year rather than per month.
So with 4 months remaining in 2024, what are you reading?

Our September pick is

Finished
Farilane. I liked it, but the ending felt a bit unearned to me. I'll be curious if he revisits it in the next book since each book in this series has a time skip.
I'll be taking a break from the series though to listen to
The Mercy of Gods

that was my thinking. I was originally considering swapping to yearly in January, although I can always just make a yearly thread for 2024 and we can use that for the rest of the year too

So traditionally I have created new what are you reading threads every month. I'm not entirely sure the reasoning at this point. Maybe just to keep things more recent and/or avoid the bugginess of very old/long running threads.
However the number of posts each month has gone down. Do people still prefer monthly threads? Would a yearly thread make more sense at this point?

August is here.
I'm continuing on my Rise and Fall read with
Farilane

Drumindor. It's a story that's been alluded too in several of the books too, so I've been hoping he'd finally write it.
He did a kickstarter for the ebook months ago (I want to say February?). Presumably it's taking forever for the audio because Tim Gerard Reynolds is now a very in demand narrator

If you’re talking about the..."No. I read those and I was kind of up and down on them. I really liked books 1 and 3, but found the last 2 books slow.
This is a shorter series that is between that one and the original called "The Rise and Fall". It starts with

I just finished Will Wight's latest
The Knight which I really enjoyed. I'm not sure what I'm doing next, but leaning towards going back to some Michael J Sullivan and finally giving one of his Riyria prequel series a try (since I own all/most of the books already)
