4170 Jenny was one of the first members of S&L that I talked with. She was recruiting reviewers for SFFAudio and I did those for a few years under her coordination.

After that dried up, I didn't talk to her as often but she would always chime in from time to time with some good comments on S&L despite getting busy with her own blog and podcast: http://readingenvy.blogspot.com/

I'm really sorry to hear of her passing.

4170 Tamahome shared a tweet from SFFAudio (https://twitter.com/SFFAudio/status/1...) indicating that longtime S&L Member Jenny Colvin (Reading Envy) https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/6... had passed away.

No other details were provided, but she was only 43.

4170 For my own personal challenges, I'm finished with:

Personal: 9/25 (36% complete)
Sword: 6/5 (120% complete)
Laser: 2/5 (40% complete)

I did some shorter works in April which make my numbers look better than they are. I did 4 books, but 1 was mostly from March and 1 was a novella. I completed my sword challenge as 3 of the 4 were fantasy. The other was Sci-Fi. For May I expect to maybe only do 2 as my current book is fairly long compared to what I consumed in April.

4170 February 27? Maybe you mean April. Or you have a TARDIS?

4170 Our May pick will be Machinehood by S.B. Divya.

This one came as a recommendation on discord.

Let us know what you think about the pick.

4170 I finished Amongst Our Weapons. I thought it was a bit cookie cutter, but had some interesting developments at the end.

Now I'm listening to Lesser Evil which has all the usual bells and whistles.

4170 Personally I'm more likely to make it if it's on discord again than at McGinty's.

Right now May is looking better for me, but I'm not sure if we should move the date because if I recall Memorial Day weekend was always bad for a few people.

Yeah. I think Veronica has come to believe that I've been nominating Rivers of London since Theft of Swords finally won.

However I've actually been nominating The Lives of Tao,

I have been supporting Rivers of London though and I did suggest to Veronica that if it lost again this year she should make it a dictatorial pick instead. So maybe that's why.

4170 Finished The Kaiju Preservation Society. It was alright. Fun for what it was, but not his best novel.

I started Amongst Our Weapons this morning.

4170 With regards to an Orphan Black series, I'm not super excited. To me the thing that made that show so great was Tatiana Maslany. I'll probably check it out anyways though.

4170 For my own personal challenges, I'm finished with:

Personal: 5/25 (20% complete)
Sword: 3/5 (60% complete)
Laser: 1/5 (20% complete)

I did 1 Sword and 1 Thriller, both in audio. I will likely continue this slow pace in April.

4170 The madness is over for now. Will you be reading any of the non-winning books from our annual tournament this month? If so, which ones? If not, what are you reading instead?
