Electro carried his tray of disgusting school lunch over to the table where he and Joey usually sat. Joey wasn't there yet, so Chris sat down and started eating. Silently he continued berating himself for the incident in gym. How could I have let that happen? After all these years of being careful, I do one thing and I'm in trouble!
He looked up and was startled to see Joey sitting across from him, looking tired and sad, as usual. "Joe! I didn't even hear you sit down. Where were you during gym?" Secretly he was glad Joey wasn't there to witness what had happened.
"Around," Joey said morosely. He picked at his food.

Soon the bell rang and the kids left for lunch (except for Saffy, Noel and the injured kid, who were on their way to the nurse's office).

((In case anyone is wondering, they are currently 4 months into the school year, it's about December or January. There is snow everywhere outside. Kids show up any time during the school year.))

"Out of the way everybody, out of the way," Mr. Acropolis shouted as he forced his way through the gaping crowd of students. "Why are you all standing around here? What happened?" He noticed the electrocuted boy. "What's wrong with him? Why are you all staring?"

Most people either call him Joey or Hooky.
Age: 14
Grade: 8
Talents: Joey can turn invisible and unnoticeable - no one can see him, hear him, or notice him in any way (this includes if he picks something up or moves something).
He's a pretty good artist. Usually he paints but in Edgeview he only has sketching materials, as well as colored pencils, markers, and pens.
Personality: Joey is naturally shy and doesn't like to share his art with many people. He likes to learn and is a pretty good student (he gets As and Bs). It's hard to get him angry.

Joey has brown hair and brown eyes. He normally has a rather vulnerable or young expression on his face, despite his age.
Background: Joey can't control his ability to turn invisible. He was a good kid and always went to class, except he would be marked 'absent' for whole classes or even days, despite actually being in them. Because he couldn't give excuses for his repeated absences, he was labeled a truant and, after acing all assignments he wasn't supposed to have been able to do because he 'wasn't in school,' a shameless cheat. Poor Joey was given the nickname "Hooky" because of his last name and because he was constantly "playing hooky." His own parents didn't believe his story, and when he started disappearing from his house, they called the police.
Joey landed in Edgeview as soon as he was old enough. He's been here since sixth grade. He still is noted to skip class, but the authorities are mystified as to where he goes to because it is thought no one can leave the school premises and anyhow he shows up somewhere in Edgeview later that same day, so he couldn't have gotten out of town.
Joey hates his nickname and everything attached to his "truancy" (so that's basically his entire life :'( ). He can't really get angry though so mostly he's just quiet and sad.

"Uh," Electro stammered as he noticed everyone staring at him. "Um, I was just on the rings and he came up and grabbed one while I was doing a flip. Maybe I threw him or something. I dunno, Sunshine!"
Please, let no one think I actually did what I did, he prayed. The human mind was an amazing thing; it would change how it perceived events to fit its worldview. Since most people didn't believe in strange powers, he should be safe. The real danger was the younger kids, who still had enough imagination to believe in magic.

Chris warmed up with a few simples flips, then, growing bolder, tried some of his fancier exercises. He was about to try his competition piece when a hand grabbed one of the rings and pulled. "Hey, stop hogging the rings--" BANG!
Off balance, Chris let go of the rings and stumbled to a landing. "What is your problem??" he said angrily, then noticed a boy slumped against the far wall looking dazed. He appeared to be smoking slightly. Chris paled and quickly put a hand on his arm. Yes, there it was - the slight prickling that signaled a particularly strong electrical current.

"Sorry, sir," Electro mumbled and walked over to the closet where the large equipment was stored. The other students were already working together to carry out the parallel bars. Chris scanned the room for something smaller to carry. "The horizontal bar..." He walked over and lifted it up, grunting a little. Dang, that was heavy...
"Need any help?" A boy Electro vaguely recognized was reaching out to grip the metal bar.
Electro's palms prickled with energy. "No!" he snapped, and then a little quieter, "No, I've got it. Thanks, though."

"All right, students, before we start our activity for the day..." Mr. Acropolis said, clapping his hands together. "Mr. Acton, could you please remove your jacket and gloves? We are not outside so there is no need for such heavy outerwear."
"But, sir..." Electro started to say. "... Oh, all right." Sullenly he stripped of his jacket and gloves. Now, like all the other kids, he was just wearing a t-shirt and shorts. He crossed his arms and tucked his hands into his armpits.
((They're going to do gymnastics, with metal bars for things... should be interesting...))
