40148 You're doing great. I see you need one for the 40's, take a look at Pied Piper, 1942. I think might like it.

40148 Ouch! The reason I considered trying again was I too abandoned it very early. I will be giving this a new home at the thrift store. Thanks, your insight I do trust.

40148 I think you will like A Town Called Alice. As for Lonesome Dove, it's a top ten favorite of mine and for a big book it reads very fast. A blackout isn't far away.

40148 Three left to go? I'll see you at the finish line, congrats!

40148 Congrats, two bingos you just keep moving forward. I tried Ship of Fools last year, it became one of my very rare DNF's, maybe I'll try again some day.
40148 It looks as if a glitch is not allowing us to edit our posts. I’ll update my posts when the glitch demon moves on. I hope it is fixed soon. I just finished Barchester Towers and that leaves me with 8/10 finished for challenge #2. I have the last two books for this challenge picked, and I should finish this one before mid October. I also finished Sweet Thursday and am about halfway finished with The Talented Mr. Ripley which will complete challenge #5 in the next few days.

Just two and a half books left and all challenges except #8 & 9 will be finished. Not going to hold out a lot of hope on those two. I can only see a small chance to finish the A-Z challenges, a very small chance

40148 Sorry Anne, I don't have a clue, just tried to edit a post, nothing. I guess we will have to be patient till it's fixed.

40148 Good luck with your challenge. I have read several of your possibilities, and Ruth, The House of Mirth, Silas Marner, and Huck Finn are all really good. Have fun.

You can start your own challenge thread in this folder.

To Create your challenge thread simply go to the top of this folder click on the title (Challenge Buffet). Then look to the right for the words (new topic), click that, a new screen will open. In the box (topic) type the name you wish to give your challenge. In the (comment) box list your books chosen for the challenge. Use the (add book/author) link so that others can link to your choices and learn more about the book you have selected.

40148 I posted the spoiler thread for review. I hope it will allow time for members to decide how they want to read this book. It will be locked until it is moved to the Current Reading folder on the 1st.
