I read
Cousin Bette a few weeks ago, it's a real good dramatic soap opera, curious about what you will think.

I'm looking forward to watching your progress. The books you've selected so far look good.

Welcome Laura, glad you are with us.

Congrats! Looks like you had a really good year. The A-Z's are the two challenges I won't be finishing. I came close, but I'll end up a few short.

Still looks like you had a successful year, lots of good books read, congrats.

Sara, I have enjoyed following your progress and have benefited greatly from the experience. You have pointed me in the direction of some of the best books I’ve ever read, Thanks!
I hate that you have to go through the aggravation associated with moving, but I’m happy that you will end up in the place you call Home. That’s where happiness resides and I hope it’s a smooth transition without any pot holes along your way.

This is shaping up to be an enjoyable discussion. I found the story to be excellent.

I hope you find what you need for challenge #2, Good luck.

I think I’m going to go for numbers 6-8. I read more than 100 short stories t..."Thanks for the catch, it's probably not the last time I will make that mistake, it's that time of the year for it.
Enjoy your challenge.
Scott wrote: "One question: is the A-Z authors challenge first name or last name? Or either?"Libraries and bookstores file using the authors last name, it seems to be a good way. But no one will complain if you need to fudge a little. Some letters are hard, so if you use
Zane Grey first name for the letter Z, its fine.

Welcome Scott.

I read this in 2013 and won't be rereading with the group. That said I am looking forward to the discussion. I thought it was a remarkable story and have since read all three sequels.

You have some really good selections. Looking forward to next year, Good luck!

Nike wrote: "I haven't participated in the Buffet Challenge and I'm thinking about whether to join or not. I wonder if it's aloud to mix the bingo with the buffet? Can I read a book and count it for both those ..."Yes, all books will work and can be shared in your other challenges. Give it a go, remember, you don't have to do them all. Just do what you feel comfortable with.

Shaina, I think listening to or watching a play and to some degree poems, helps. Especially for me with something written by Shakespeare. I read the play then I will listen to it as I read it again. I have even watch YouTube versions, it helps me.
I have only listened to a few poems and most of those were by Poe, The Raven comes to mind.

Matt, I read Game of Thrones several years ago. While I enjoyed it, I never felt the need to follow up on the sequels. I for one appreciate well stated opinions, even when I disagree.

I read this when it became a group read back in 2015 and I won't be rereading it this time. I will say you all are in for a treat, this is Gaskell magic, enjoy!

You remind me of me, this year. Nothing wrong with a healthy appetite. Good luck!
