38356 I age only 1 year for every 10. That way, I'm really good at being whatever age it is I'm admitting to.

Hey, it works for me...

38356 I was totally amazed at how Morgan was able to maintain both his ideals and his integrity, and not get himself killed in the process. It also spoke to the honor of the French leader (whose name I can't recall, I'm sorry) who while he didn't have to, gave Morgan more freedom and treated him like a man, not just a prisoner/animal -- well, not all the time, anyway.

38356 Thanks, Anne! LOL Guess I better!!!

38356 I'm very jealous! As a kid, then even in college, I had wanted to go into archeology, or at least study it. I'm always fascinated in the small details of civilizations, and the things we can learn from ancient trash heaps :) My daughter is taking a history class, World History to the 1500's, in college, and I LOVE it when she comes home and tells me the things her professor has taught.

38356 That is a very, very cool story!!! I have an ancestor known as Indian Eve. She was also taken captive, but after some years was able to return to her family. In the past couple of years, however, another branch of the family has "laid claim" to her being their direct ancestor, so who knows?

38356 OK, thanks :) I'm going to go read about her now.

How often have I said that I want to know the details behind the stories? I sound like a broken record!! LOL

38356 Thanks, Beanbag! When I finish The Serpent Prince I'm going to start Midnight Man. I borrowed them from a friend and don't want to find I still have them, sitting here waiting to be read a year from now. LOL
Sep 23, 2010 11:28AM

38356 Aye, I can see that, Pamela :) That's what the bastard held over all of them. I keep sayin' William needs to get laid on a regular basis. LOL

38356 So, Pamela, I did a search and is this the Mary Jameson of Celtic descent, married to Samuel?

I'm trying to research my ancestor, Parks (or Parkes) DARE. He was born about 1790 in New York, according to census records, but I can't find anything further back. You've given me an idea of where to search, though!!!! Thanks! :)

38356 I like that title, actually. I think they were all defiant in some way, but I can see Connor being even more-so, after watching the BS his brothers were put through.

38356 Pamela, he's from Lora Leigh's Breeds series. It's an erotic/pnr type series.

The Breeds are a human/animal hybrid governmental military experiment gone awry. LOL The Breeds are awesome "People" but they were created to be super warriors, killing machines. Jonas is ... anyone? What is his official title, I can't remember? Head of the Breeds Council? I'm drawing a blank right now. Anyway, he's manipulative, obstinate, underhanded, a very strong leader and sexy as hell. We finally got his book in April I think it was, Lion's Heat and the next installment comes out October 5th, Styx's Storm

So anyway, yeah... while reading Surrender I kept seeing Jonas. And as with all series, some of the books are better than others, but one of the first books to ever make me sob was Dawn's Awakening from this series.

38356 Anne, thanks for that information! I haven't read her Bullet Catchers yet. How are they?
