I've enjoyed South American fiction if there is just a little magical realism. But I've given up on some books with too much of it. Everyone has their favorite genres so don't feel bad about occasionally DNF, Bea.

I didn't know they made it into a movie. I wonder if they included actual footage of the assassination, or had actors portray the Kennedys. That's one day in history that I will never forget.

36119 I loved 11/22/63, Tien. Although it's written by Stephen King, it's not horror. It's a combination of time travel/fantasy and historical fiction.
