36119 I am not doing at all well with my personal goal to get my To-Be-Continued shelf down from 63 to 50. So far I haven't got it down any lower than 57 before I read the first book in a new series that I want to continue, or find a series that should have had a book on that shelf and didn't. I am going to have to really concentrate on those old series for the rest of the year.

Thank you very much.

36119 I would like to read The Pit and the Pendulum by Edgar Allan Poe which includes The Fall of the House of Usher. Unfortunately, due to the title, Goodreads has it under The Pit and the Pendulum rather than The Pit and the Pendulum and Other Stories. Is there a way I can use this for the task (or RwS in general)?

Actually it was the lack of an 'e' on the end of the name that confused me. the name is Clarke not Clark as in the link.

36119 I read post #2 and only used the first link in post #1. So which is it, the link in post #1 or the correct spelling as requested in post #2?

36119 He's on the right, directly under Ray Bradbury, near Greg Bear. Unless you are looking at a different Arthur C Clarke. I think it might be me. All I can find is Arthur C Clark and Sir Arthur Charles Clarke.

36119 Two questions.

Can I assume that the Tanazaki in Edith Wharton's is Junichiro Tanizaki (Author)?

And can I take the Iain Banks in Arthur C. Clarke's as both Iain Banks and Iain M Banks?

36119 I am very relieved to hear it Amanda. My uncle died of whooping cough as a baby (back in the 1930's).
