I read it some years ago and my recollection is hazy but I don't recall it being in letter form.
10.8 MegafinishThe Arsonist: A Mind on Fire by Chloe Hooper
True crime is really not my genre and I only read this because my book group is discussing it next month (I’m hoping lots of people will shelve it before the end of the challenge and I can switch it to Kate’s task).
The book starts with the fires and Hooper really managed to evoke the feel of the devastation and the people caught up in it. (I would have preferred to read it at a time when I couldn’t smell smoke in the air). She gives the reader a picture of the district and the people who live there. We meet the police who are investigating the fires and follow their hunt for an arsonist. The second part focuses on the defense lawyers and their impressions of the suspect. We learn about his background and gain some understanding of his situation. The third and shortest part is the trial.
This is a beautifully written book and I recommend it to anyone who is interested in true crime, arson or autism.

I haven't read the book but if the sister is actively in the story rather than just being remembered then that works for me.

This summer I have been really glad that we moved from Sydney. We had a cool change last night and today is much nicer!
The next one I am looking at is The Price of Valor in which one of the main characters is a woman passing as a male soldier in command of a group of female soldiers led by her lover. Would that fit?
I am looking at Foundryside which I have just finished and the main character and one of the other female characters start a relationship toward the end of the book but it doesn't play a role in the story.
How important does the character's sexuality have to be to the story?If the character's sexuality makes no difference to the story does it still work for this task?
I am really looking forward to the weather being a bit cooler!
