Ulysses: there were some parts that were really hard work, but others that I really enjoyed. In particular, the last section, of Molly Bloom's stream-of-consciousness monologue, I really loved.

Though yeah, not enough to dive into it again in a hurry!

I'm sorry, but this book does not work for the sub-challenge. Some of Agatha Christie's books, and this is one of them, are used in classrooms in Brooklyn and are shelved as "Assignment" at BPL and also have a low lexile. .."

Bother! I even had it in my head to check that before turning it in!

I'm reading a history of Istanbul Istanbul: A Tale of Three Cities, which I'd planned for Turkey. I'm now second guessing myself, because obviously Turkey is a modern day state. Does the fact that the story takes in times before Turkey existed mean that I can't use it?

there are some non-magical realist authors from South America! Not many I`ll grant you.... and now I think about it, I guess most of the South American books I`m thinking of are actually non-fiction... But there IS a marvellous seam of near-death mountainous experience books, like the football team plane crash, or the climber with rope cut by his partner.
