How about this?

1) Paulo Bacigalupi wrote [book].
2) Paulo Bacigalupi had a story published with Orson Scott Card in Brave New Worlds.
3) Orson Scott Card wrote Ender's Game.
4) Harrison Ford was in the movie Ender's Game.
5) Harrison Ford was in Random Hearts (1999) with Steve Altes.
6) Steve Altes was in Hollow Man (2000) with Kevin Bacon.

(If that works, so would anyone else in that anthology...)

I was just about to say something about the Book Riot challenge! It has been quite contentious but interesting nevertheless.

I'm not sure what I'm going to read for this time around, but for Book Riot I read Monongah: The Tragic Story of the 1907 Monongah Mine Disaster, the Worst Industrial Accident in US History. I never checked for confirmation, but I think it fits kind of both the "pop culture" definition and the more academic one. It was very specifically focused on the disaster, but also talked about where it fit within social history as a whole and had a good history of the town as well.

36119 20.1 Celebration!

The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever by Julia Quinn

Review: I always forget how much I love Julia Quinn until I pick up one of her books. This is the first in a new-to-me series, and it was just what I needed. The heroine, Miranda, has been in love with Turner since she was 10 and he was 19, but it’s not until his unfaithful, awful wife dies that he comes back into her life as an adult. The romance itself was predictable and might have stood a little more emotional impact, but I love the “best friend’s big brother now sees me as something more” trope. Miranda reminded me a lot of myself, which is something I love in a romance novel heroine – it makes it even easier to fall into the story.

There are a lot of tasks that tend to push some of our boundaries, so I wouldn't hold my breath. It's nice to be expansive though, and I'm often pretty surprised at how much I enjoy books from genres I'm not a huge fan of.
