The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon by Stephen King
+20 Task (about a 9-year-old girl who gets lost off the Appalachian Trail and ends up walking from Mai..."
Does she still stay in the mountains near the Appalachian trail? If so, I think that would count for 20.8"
While she begins her hike (with her mother and brother) on the Trail, she gets lost quite early on and never reconnects to it as far as the reader knows. She is woefully lost in the woods and it never states how close to the actual Trail she ends up being during her journey.
We read this for my book club this month and I was so excited for combo points when I read the synopsis, but upon reading the book it (sadly) didn't fit that task.
Thanks for keeping your eyes open for me, though, Rebekah! It was very "Great British Baking Show" of you (I so hope you get that allusion). ;-)

I don’t know if I’m muddling this task with the royal one from last season and that’s why I’m finding it so difficult to discern....She’s titled, lives on her ancestral estate, is definitely upper crust—is that enough to qualify her and this book?

That makes total sense—thank you :-)

I love that you read this, too! Wasn't it so good!?
Also: I love that you found points that I completely missed!
Mods, can I please have +5 added for the 20.5 Combo on this one that I missed? (I posted this book at post #347.)
