The only reason we're using the combined countries of the USSR is because it was the USSR (not "Russia") who hosted the Summer Olympics in 1980. Since Australia was the host (in 1956 and 2000) and not "Oceania," we will only accept authors born in or citizens of Australia.

As long as there is even a sentence that describes them playing badminton, it'd count! The sport doesn't have to be a main feature of the book, it just has to happen somewhere in the text...
