Finished Cloud Atlas!!

I'm honestly not sure how I felt about that book. I liked it. I think.

Almost done with Cloud Atlas - and will finish the TOG books this afternoon I think, I'm going to read during lunch and finish up the last few pages here and there.

I honestly had ZERO intention of reading book 2 in that series. I only read it because a friend bought it and handed it to me with a recommendation. It's book 2 that locked me in. And it NOT YA... I just didn't understand that genre labeling.

Throne of Glass definitely starts as YA, and the first book had that feel, but you get a great age progression through the series and it loses that YA feel very quickly.

It's definitely a JOURNEY. I was contemplating whether I was enjoying this one more than ACOTAR. The first book in that series was, eh.. but I think I enjoy the more romance-y feel of ACOTAR. That being said Throne of Glass is a powerhouse of a series. I am DYING. It is long, but it is worth it.

Another Quickie Update!

I made great progress on my big books last night. I'm in those last 200 pages area and Maas just KILLS. I can barely force myself to put them down and sleep. I should finish them tonight, I know I won't be able to go to bed with doing so. I'm worried I'll be a wreck!

I'm still planning to read Sweep in Peace, so I'll add that one the the SS, and I started Cloud Atlas (a 500pg-er) yesterday, which I will finish Wednesday at the latest. I will probably get in another book (maybe 2 if I'm not too busy this weekend, but I haven't chosen it/them yet.

Let me see what I can find for a 500pager... I'm not sure I'll be able to manage it (maybe if I find an audio version...)

I'm CR A Magic Steeped in Poison (384pgs), and should finished either today or tomorrow.

24. Chapter 32, though! How did you feel about the heart-to-heart on the parapet? Did it fill you with fluttery lovey feelings, or did it fall flat? Are you loving “Vioden” (Xadlet?)??

25. Xaden has Violet join his special group for the War Games, and we find out about all the secrets that EVERYONE has been keeping from her. Do you think she overreacted to these revelations or is her reaction warranted? How do you feel about Dain’s betrayal? Surprised (hint hint - NO)?

26. Anyone crying yet? I know I was losing it through a lot of the last 15% of the book. What are your thoughts on the major losses we see during this battle? Any thoughts on the battle itself (or the enemy themselves)?

27. That CLIFF-HANGER of an ending had me stunned! What did you think of the sudden appearance of (view spoiler)[Brennan (hide spoiler)]? Was it too much, or just enough?

28. What are your overall thoughts on this book? Will you read the next one?

Ahh, that makes sense, I missed that post! It also makes sense as to why "Adding New Books & Editions" is the folder that is showing for everything, in every group!

Also, I'm really behind this month on my reading numbers, so I'm going to TRY and read as much as possible for the rest of the month. I usually don't read much on the weekends, so I'll see if I can get more done there. We're broke after vaca anyway, so staying home and reading seems like a financially sensible decision 🤣😂
