10 Things the Chipmunks Love - Pennywise! - Read a book you can connect to our favourite red balloon carrying clown
Ten Tallest Towers 4 - Abraj Al-Bait Clock Tower - Read a book set in, or by an author from Saudi Arabia

Excellent.

Nice - yes, I think I'd like to read that one.

I'll check!

That's a good question. Jake has a skeptical side, so he might have thought something was up, but then again, maybe he would have fallen for it.
11) Jake plans how he is going to stop Frank. Would your thought process have been the same as Jake's? How would you plan to change the event?
Jake is calculated. He is respectful of the time continuum, and waits until the last minute. I would be so nervous, I'd probably try to get it done asap.
12) There is something off about Derry. The place itself feels weird and the people act strange. Would you stay somewhere where you don't feel welcome? Would you investigate more into what was going on?
Nope. I'd move right along. Let Derry be Derry!
13) Well, stopping Frank didn't go to plan but he did get stopped. What do you think the consequences of changing the event will be in the present, if any? Do you think he will go back and try again? If so, what do you think he will do differently?
I am very curious about this yellow card man. He seems to be a key in all of this.
As for Jake, I think he'll keep perfecting the Frank situation, even though his main objective is to kill off Lee Harvey Oswald. He seems to link both his needs and the needs of the country - he's not completely calculating. That will add to the interest of the plot, I'm sure!!

It was excellent.
It could work for blue, letters, or 53 - it's set in and out of school life, mostly because that is the main character's age.

I felt badly, but I also felt like it was a plot point. I was thinking more about how King was crafting the story than feeling the pain of characters.
#6. Money is a big deal in any timeline. Would you be able to acclimate to the past in terms of financial transactions as well as Jake? Do you think Jake acclimated TOO quickly?
No, definitely not. I also think it would be strange for a woman to have so much cash not tied to a husband, so it would have been trickier, and a lot more frustrating.
#7. Fashion is also an issue in the past. Do you think Jake is having an easier time of it because he is a man? What would be the most challenging fashion change for you to get used to? Is there something you would love to be able to wear?
I guess so? I live in jeans and t-shirts, so all of it would be difficult!
#8. There are a lot of interesting nods to older Advertising terms and slogans that King uses to help the reader recognize the timeline change of the past. Which one stood out to you the most and why?
I agree with Nanci - the smoking advertisements were the most stand-outable. Having everyone smoking would be something indicative of the time period for sure.
#9. If you have read any past King novels, some of these chapters have a lot of connections to early books about Derry, Maine, and surrounding locations. Did you find any Easter eggs from previous stories? If you haven't read earlier King novels, what about Derry seemed to stand out as unique to you?
I haven't read any that appear in Derry, but I am interested in the town. It is dark and creepy and full of terror!

Well, maybe I'll go outside for a minute.

The creators of Tower Teams have given us more spell-outs!
They are under the tab "team towers." The link to the announcement is here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
That link gives the rules for spell-outs again too.
I do love a good spell-out! I've read a lot of interesting books based on a character whose name starts with "x" or "z."
It looks like we can include any books that we finished after 9am UTC June 15th. I know there were a bunch that were finished yesterday, so let us know if any of them work.

1) I have only read a few of Stephen King's books. Is this your first book by the author or are you quite familiar with his storytelling? I have read two of his books: The Stand which still haunts me (I can't go through the Lincoln Tunnel without shuddering. That and I'm still looking for Grandma Moses...) and The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon which I didn't think captured the fear of getting lost, actually. I thought The Stand was much better.
2) What do you think about the character Jake so far? Would you have gone along with what Al wanted and took the initial step back into the past, or would you have not humoured him and tried to get him help?
I don't love Jake, but I think he is a good character to go through with the first initial step. I am hoping the past makes him more likeable.
Nah, I would not go into the past. The future, maybe, but the past can stay past.
3) I am not sure how I would feel if I just stepped back into the past the way Jake and Al have, but I am really curious about how the time travelling works in this story. It seemed that Jake was somewhat calm about it. How do you think you would feel if it was you?
Not good. I'd be afraid I'd mess something up!! I mean, maybe I could warn the world about a few things though....
4) I think it is clear that Jake is going to pick up Al's mission to try and stop the JFK assassination. Would you choose to continue Al's mission? Also how much do you know of the history surrounding this event?
If I had to go back in time, I would want to help the world out.
I don't know much about the event.
