35559 I think we should go for trying to sink a boat and get another extra:P

How sure are the guesses Alison, on the remaining boats? Sure enough to sink one?

The wedding was lovely and fun, they are both good friends of mine and it was about time they tied the knot=) Now I have to prepare for the next wedding this Saturday (leaving already on Wednesday to help prepare everything!). After that I hope to have two quiet weeks to read before my vacation=)

35559 Finished Savner deg by Harlan Coben (had way too much time to read today due to lousy transport options on the island where the wedding was held. Had to take a ferry 9.20am and then wait at a cafe for hours untill my flight at 16.30pm...)

It works for thriller, mystery, fiction and even contemporary (11 users;P)

I'm also close to finishing On Dublin Street (On Dublin Street, #1) by Samantha Young . I really recommend this in audio, the Scottish accent is wonderful to listen to!=)

Quite good, thought not the best retell I've read. Really closes in on the subject of outer and inner beauty of course, but at sort of a different angle than the original tale. More focused on Belle's familiy.

35559 I7 instead of H7 would be fine too:-)

35559 I agree with taking either J2 or J4 first, and then use the extra guess from A1 to sink it if necessary.

I'd say F1 rather than E2 since it stands completely alone, not touching any other ships, ideal for one of the smallest boats.

I think we should try to hit small ones and get more guesses. Chances are we'll hit a big one while trying for the small ones anyway..and maybe with extra guesses we can sink that too! (optimistic I know:-P)

We should guess places that could hit big and small alike, for instance A4, B7, C5, F1, H7, J10 and I5 (only if J4 is empty, if J4 is a hit I'd rather go with H5, so perhaps wait with this guess till extras). This is based on thinking that the MODS have tried to let the ships touch as little as possible , so I won't guess on spots in diagonal contact either...:-)

Maybe we could follow Heather's suggestion of only taking D9 this round and not both D9 and H9. That way you can also try B7, it does look like a perfect place to hide a ship:P

35559 Not sure if I'll be able to pick up Savner deg anytime soon, but I will try to fit in some easily read romance/contemporary during this weekend (in between the weddingstuff:P)

I would suggest reading a short book for a bonus task now, since we get new goals on Friday. Then you will be able to start on one of those quickly=)

35559 Finished Persuasion, definitly worth reading/listen to as well as watching the movie;)

I used audio, but for pagecount, do we use the first edition on the list? If so, it's 249 pages.

I think it should pull through automatically, don't know why it doesn't..the captains will probably fix it=)

Nothing special to do, just pick another, preferably a hit task rather than a miss one I think=)

35559 ok, trying to strategize too much on the board just made my head spin:-P
but I have some suggestions:
- hit both D9,H9 to see if we're lucky on the big boat
- perhaps the ships on row 1 and 3 are horizontal? the MODS said they tried to have the ships touch as little as possible...so maybe C1 and D3? (or any other combo)
- try random guesses on lines A,I,J and 7? my suggestions would be J3, I6 or I7, J8, A5

this is getting late for me:-P good night everyone!

35559 Sounds like a plan, Alison. Perhaps try one guess around each one of the ships (5) and rest random? For at least three of those ships we'll know for the last round, given that we miss on this one, that the opposite side will be a hit:P

I had a 50/50 hitrate on last round so listen to my guesses at your own risk:P

I just need some time looking on the board and try to calculate a bit on size of remaining boats and availible spaces:P

35559 ok=) Another question: Can a member only read one bonus book per hit? What I mean is, must 8 different members read a book each, or can say 4 people read 8 books?

35559 I've started listening to Persuasion, it works for Classic, Romance, Fiction, Historical, stand-alone, female narrator, one word title.
I won't have it finished untill Sunday at the earliest (I will drive and fly a lot this weekend, so I have time to listen=))

I will also start another book, just haven't decided which one=)
Captains, any particular goal I should try finding a fitting book to?

It has pulled through to your list on the spreadsheet, but I think the captains have to manually put it on the goal tab=)

I think it's entirely up to you which order you read them in=) My books were so exciting, I had trouble stop reading, which is why I've finished two already=)
