1. Why did you decide to read this book? Have you read other books by Neil Gaiman? Did someone recommend it to you?I haven't read anything else from this author, but a friend recommended it to me a couple years ago, and I thought now is a perfect time to read it for a BOM.
2. In the first chapter we're introduced to some of Shadow's fellow prison inmates - Low Key Lyesmith, the Iceman, and Sam Fetisher. Do you think any of these chracters will play a part in the rest of the book or were they just background flair?
After reading some other comments, I do think at least a couple of these characters will be back if not all.
3. What do you think of Mr. Wednesday? I think I caught a few hints about who he really is - anyone else have an idea?
Again, after some of these comments, I have a better idea of who Mr. Wednesday could be. He's very mysterious!
4. What are you thoughts on Laura, her infidelity and her return from the dead to protect Shadow? Do you think she is one of Shadow's crazy dreams that he's been getting?
I was really grossed out by all of that. I'm interested to see where that story goes. I'm not convinced she's just a part of his dreams.
5. There seems to be a lot of interesting things being set up even in these early chapters, what have you found most intriguing in the opening scenes of the book?
I'm really impatient to learn more about the gods and what they're up to.
The last book I read, The Storyteller, was half told in the present day from the granddaughter and half told from the past from the grandmother. Would that work for skipping multiple generations?

So if there's another goal that won't be easy to find a book for, we could throw that out instead. Otherwise, let's throw out non-fiction and I'll keep putting it off :)

I just finished The Great Gatsby, which is on the unforgettable characters list. I'm on my phone currently so can't see all posts as well, but I don't think that one had been filled yet. Let me know if it has! Also, I'm from Minnesota! :-)
