If you think that's bad, it has gotten even worse here. Earlier, there was a bit of marketing before the major festivals. Now it carries on the whole year through. One just about finishes with one festival and the advertising starts up for the next one. I remember my grandparents grumbling about everything being overly commercialised. They would have been shocked to see how bad it has become now.

35559 Christmas has officially started!
I had my first official viewing of the poster of The Miracle on 34th Street on an OTT platform, which, for me, signals the start of the holiday season. I watch both versions of the movie every year, one on Christmas Eve and one on Christmas Day.
Very early this year! I wasn't expecting the Xmas movies to start being promoted until at least the 1st week of December.

Hi. I have changed the page count on the spreadsheet to the correct one - 971 pages. I know I edited that earlier... I have no clue why it went back to the old page count.

35559 Reading (techinically listening): The Rainbow by D.H. Lawrence

The Rainbow by D.H. Lawrence

Listening to: Over the Rainbow (the Israel Kamakawiwo'ole version. While I love the Judy Garland version, this version stole my heart and gives me such joy every time I hear it.)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_DKW...

The word "rainbow" automatically makes me start to sing this song and since I don't want to harm any eardrums around me, I have taken to playing the above-mentioned version instead.😊😜

I read a lot of DH Lawrence when I was in high school but not for my own school work. We didn't do any of his works when I was in high school. I think they were considered too risqué. My mother was reading for her Master's in English literature then and would have to read a lot for her coursework. As I have always been fond of reading, I read almost all the texts that were recommended for the course.

35559 I finished my last book for this round and have updated the spreadsheet. I have started the next round and am finding my first book very interesting. I am listening to the audiobook of The Rainbow by DH Lawrence and so far, it is very good. I already know though that I am going to want to reread this book at some time when I can read either an ebook or a physical book.

35559 I would like to claim "Bhangra" as I want to read Brick Lane by Monica Ali. From what I can see, the book works for R & I (character names).

Sorry, I posted my answers but forgot to update the spreadsheet. I have done so now.
