Finished both of my Christmas books and hoping to finish Fourth Wing tonight. Since we only have a little over a day left what should we concentrate on? Are there any difficult letters we need?

DQ Day 3 Chapters 14-20

10. So we are half way through the book. Thoughts and feelings? Loving it? Hating it? Ambivalent?
I'm trying really hard to like it but it's just not grabbing me. I'm not a big fantasy reader so that could be it.

11. Jeremiah gets killed pretty quickly as his signet shows. Do you agree that power can't be allowed?
No, I definitely don't agree. I think his power would be coveted and very useful.

12. What's the deal with Andarna? Why do you think 2 dragons have bonded with Violet?
I really like Andarna and a good contrast to Tairn. Maybe because she's the general's daughter and special status or maybe because she wasn't meant to be there and should have been a scribe. I'm hoping to find out before the end of the book.

Manifesting-I would love to know what people are thinking, although it could be a bad thing as well depending on what they are thinking.

14. Were you surprised about Amber's betrayal? How about when Xaiden completely believed Violet but Dain didn't?
Not really, I kept thinking there had to be one coming. I'm kind of not surprised by Dain but I am mildly surprised that she didn't have to convince Xaiden more than she did.

Wow that's great! I'm ready for some more holiday books-Christmas in July reading. It's been so hot!

DQ Day 2: Chap 7- 13

6. This section starts with two scenes with each of the male love/lust interests. The comparison of them continues very clearly. Do you like Xaden or Dain better or neither?
I don't really like either of them at this point. Dain is annoying and Xaden is just a hard ass jerk.

7. Violet uses alternative methods to survive the fighting challenges. Do you think that counts as cheating or using the resources available? Do you think she is aware that she only has this information because she comes from a privileged background and her sister count sneak in it? Do you think one of the professors should have noticed after 5 rounds?
I think it counts as using the resources available, in the middle of a battle that is what you would do. I would think she was aware at least to point because of her privileged status. You would think it would be obvious that something is going on.

8. The obstacle course is straight out of American Ninja warrior (and other similar TV shows) including ending with the giant ramp. Did you enjoy this section and how Violet figured out working with her height limitations? Have they told us how tall she is? (Though in real life, the shortest person to make it up the wall has only been 5’1” – I just Googled it).
I don't remember seeing how tall she is but she did keep reiterating that she's small compared to everyone else. I like that she figured out how to work around her height. You have to use what you're given at birth and work with it.

9. Finally, we meet the dragons. Was it all you were hoping for? Did anyone guess the black one when it was first introduced in this section? (Also, I am not taking the fall seriously at the end of my section since we still have 2/3 of the book to go).
I was satisfied with this section, I don't think it should have been written any differently. I had a feeling about the black one but wasn't quite sure where that would go.

Bonus: If you could have a dragon from any book or movie, which one would you want?
My dragon knowledge from movies is very limited so I would have to say Toothless

Sorry to nitpick I was looking at what tasks we have left and I noticed that Jedi is on the spreadsheet for TT6. I think it should be TT5 or at least that's what I saw on the Traveling Tasks page. I could very well be wrong, I usually am lol Also, starting on line 158 part of that sloth is labeled as W33a, W33b but then it just jumps to W34c, W34d

To me it looks like we have one more 25 Days of Christmas and the rest are monsters? Is that correct? We are doing phenomenal!

DQs Day 1, Chapters 1 - 6

1. As someone who grew up with the Pern books, I love diving back into a world with dragons and dragon riders. And this one has extra bonus Gryphons, apparently!
Do you have any first impressions of the main characters (Violet, Dain, Rhiannon, Xader) and the world building? Do you want to know more?
I like Violet so far she seems like a strong personality. Dain is somewhat annoying so far I'm hoping that changes. Rhiannon seems like she could be a good friend. Xader of course will be the love interest lol

2. What do you think of Violet’s mother and sister? Any idea about why her mother chose to order her to the Rider Quadrant instead of the Scribe Quadrant?
No idea so far. Maybe because Violet likes history and her mother wants to erase history since she is portrayed as a terrible person by some.

3. The brutality of the selection process and the casual acceptance of murder is something else. What do you think the purpose of it is? (If there is one beyond societal norms.)
Would you have given your boot to a stranger?
I think it's strange that fighters are being murdered when they need them. I'd like to think I would do it. I'm usually pretty good about giving things or trading things.

4. So this is a world at war, but at the battle briefings at least, they don’t seem to know why the outer provinces are currently attacking the borders. Any ideas about why this is happening?
I don't know. It seems like they are always at war or have been in the past.

5. Do you think that Violet will survive and get chosen by a dragon? If so, any predictions on what kind?
Of course this is only book one and she'll be chosen by the best one!!!

I took Five Star Weekend off the spreadsheet because I don't want to take any chances of not being able to finish it. I can always add it back on if I get to it

I could have sworn I put Validated by Valentine's Day on the spreadsheet but maybe I didn't or maybe I'm just missing it. It will 100% work for Humanoid since the main character is dating one. I can add it to the spreadsheet if need be just let me know
