Not the only one. I love Tim Burton movies. And Neil's books have that gothic creepy feeling Tim's movies have. So. In theory, I should devour them. Reality isn't pretty. I forced myself to read a couple. Gave up on others. I just can't.

35559 I am discovering that for bigger books (600+) it works best if I watch the show/movie first - I thought A discovery of Witches was a fluke, but I'm pretty sure I would thought the book boring without the visual support. Game of Thrones is also a good example of that.

And yes, I'm one of those people that thinks a books is long if it passes the 500 pages.

The average for UF books is 300-400, so, that's my middle range. Less than 250 is short, 500+ is long.

35559 And good morning team!!!

I'm back from my week off. I usually read lots during these... however, I forgot I had a hell of a stressed 6 weeks prior to them. As soon as brain caught up I was off work, it let my body have at it. Meaning I slept lots. Had a minor headache the whole week, and could barely stand up for long.

I'll be back on top of my game the next few days. As soon as the daily routine gets into place again.

Anyway... even with all that, I'm bravely working on Game of Thrones - I'm about 40% in. So. Maybe I manage to read the book after all. I'm still enjoying it. So, that's a plus.

35559 I had the week off from work, but all I did was sleep. And basic stuff like feeding the hordes.

A couple days away somewhere would be awesome, but, we get what we get.

Specially this nagging headache that doesn't seem to want to go away.

Anyway, I read very little. I also have been watching game of thrones with my sister and what I always was afraid it would happen it did. I started the book.

Sure it will be a lot of points if I manage to finish it, but I don't have that much faith in myself. High fantasy for me is a but like sci-fi. I like to watch it, but get bored reading it. Let's see what happens.

35559 Ahaha you had to say it!

I have some moist and delicious red velvet cake in the fridge waiting for later, so no worries there.

Thank you all my darlings.

And Steven, I love you too.

I'm getting ready to take the little minion to the oceanarium and see the fishies. I warned her I might behave like a child when we get to see Nemo

35559 Ahahahah.

Well, when you miss the cold, just visit the northern regions.

35559 Well... I'm near Lisbon, so we're the lucky ones... temps range from 8º (winter) to 29º (summer). We rarely go below 5 or above 34 - Hence me complaining so much during cold or heat waves.. I'm spoiled.

Other regions are not as lucky.

My step-dad's lives 40km away, and the thermic variation there is wider. We spent the first wave of the pandemics there... and working on a room where the afternoon sun hit the windows during summer months was pure torture. I had the fan pointed directly at me.
