My favorite so far has been A Court of Mist and Fury"

That one was the biggest book hangover of the year so far for me... I've read it twice already, which is highly unusual for me

35559 I did a quick and incomplete check, and we already have at least 10 out of 16 books needed.

Again, I didn't finish checking, so it's likely a bit more than that

35559 I think we got a lot of the word covered already, with the books we haven't used during the Games, so we'd need to check what really needs to be read.

35559 Woot woot!!

After I finish The Hero of Ages, I'll try to focus on shorter books, so I can read more.

35559 I'm almost halfway through Tell the Wolves I'm Home, so I shouldn't have a problem finishing it either

35559 As a foreigner, I must say that Trump worries me more than Hillary, given how brazen he is about immigration and building walls and all that. What is more frightening is not his ideas. but how widespread and accepted they are.

Right now, the biggest corruption scheme in Brazilian history (so far, of course, who knows what else is out there?) is being investigated. R$ 21 billions were taken from our state-owned oil company (that is roughly US$ 5 billion). Actually, it's even bigger than that, as investigations are unearthing more and more corruption. The whole thing is rotten, really.

Adding to that, there is an impeachment underway, and the final vote should happen during the Games, so a lot of potential for trouble there, as both sides are pretty incensed. Our economy is in shambles, unemployment and inflation rates are pretty high, and estimates are that it will take us two to three years to pull ourselves out of this hole.

(sorry about the political essay, I'll go back to our usual reading program LOL)

35559 I've started my book, should have it finished by tomorrow night (no commute today, as I had to drive into work)

35559 The timing of it is, unfortunately, awful right now. No one could have predicted what is going on right now. An impeachment process is underway, our economy is wrecked, a huge corruption scandal is under investigation right now...

Not to mention the millions that could have been better spent in our public ducation and health systems rather than buildings that won't have any use after the Games are over.

35559 And when is that book going to be finished, do we have any idea?

(Sorry, may have missed that conversation) (I'm also a tad anxious LOL)

35559 I'm a bit lost on the spreadsheets, how many books do we still need to finish and be able to start on bonus rounds?

35559 If we start tomorrow, I can do my book. Later than that, I start having issues with the timezone...

35559 No way.

I have to work, for one. And I'm against Brazil hosting the Olympics.

In fact, plenty of people are against it. I think there have already been 7 or 8 attempts to put the torch out

35559 So the Olympic Torch is coming to my city tomorrow... I can only think of the hassle it's going to cause, especially traffic-wise, as they're blocking all the major avenues during rush hour so a pretty flame can be paraded around

35559 When those last books we need are logged, we'll get a whole lot of points!

Also, I'm starting The Hero of Ages, which is a mammoth of a book, though I'll be keeping my eyes open for the start of that relay.
