How about something by Silvia Moreno-Garcia... Silver Nitrate by Silvia Moreno-Garcia 0r Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia .

I think she may be Canadian of Mexican descent. Most of her books are set in Mexico which counts as Latin America, doesn't it?

35559 I swapped around Laila's 500-650 pages books so we could complete Drop Bear from the previous 50. 😂

So Things I wanted to Say but never did is in No 55 Joffrey.

New Urban Monster is El Duende and thankfully does not have a 800+ pages!!

35559 That's great Vicki.

I'll be starting Deadly Fate (DI Kim Stone, #18) by Angela Marsons next up so that Hydra will be dust!

I've been working on the Dr Who Monsters with Jenny, so looking forward to that Wheel when it drops.

35559 Just a tweek for Weeping Angels -

Combine task 1 & 2 and change Task 2 as below.

1. Features a scene in a graveyard/cemetery or a gravestone on the cover - (kudos if it happens to be a creepy angel!)
2. RAB tagged "angels" or "demons" over 1000 times.

And I've just got to do Davros, LOL

1. RAB with an evil genius mastermind or serial killer.
2. RAB with the letters of VORTEX in the title.
3. Read a series with includes over 20 books.
4. Read a book set on a spaceship or planet other than Earth.

This has been the greatest fun, can't wait to play the Dr Who Wheel. Thanks Jenny, it's been a blast so far..

35559 Marvelous A Novel of Wonder and Romance in the French Royal Court by Molly Greeley Marvelous: A Novel of Wonder and Romance in the French Royal Court by Molly Greeley

1547: Pedro Gonzales, a young boy living on the island of Tenerife, understands that he is different from the other children in his village. He is mercilessly ridiculed for the hair covering his body from head to toe. When he is kidnapped off the beach near his home, he finds himself delivered by a slave broker into the dangerous and glamorous world of France’s royal court. There “Monsieur Sauvage,” as he is known, learns French, literature, and sword fighting, becoming an attendant to the French King Henri II and a particular favorite of his queen, the formidable Catherine de’ Medici. Queen Catherine considers herself a collector of unusual people and is fascinated by Pedro… and determined to find him a bride.

Catherine Raffelin is a beautiful seventeen-year-old girl whose merchant father has fallen on hard times and offers up his daughter to Queen Catherine. The queen will pay his debts, and his daughter will marry Monsieur Sauvage.

Catherine meets Pedro for the first time on their wedding day. Barely recovered from the shock of her father’s betrayal, she soon finds herself christened “Madame Sauvage” by the royal courtiers, and must learn to navigate this strange new world, and the unusual man who is now her husband.

A mesmerizing novel set in the French royal court of Catherine de’ Medici during the Renaissance, which recreates the touching and surprising true story behind the Beauty and the Beast legend, from the acclaimed author of The Clergyman’s Wife and The Heiress. Gorgeously written, heartbreaking and hopeful, Marvelous is the portrait of a marriage, the story of a remarkable, resilient family, and an unforgettable reimagining of one of the world’s most beloved fairy tales.

35559 Dracul by Dacre Stoker Dracul

The prequel to Dracula, inspired by notes and texts left behind by the author of the classic novel, Dracul is a supernatural thriller that reveals not only Dracula’s true origins but Bram Stoker’s—and the tale of the enigmatic woman who connects them.

It is 1868, and a twenty-one-year-old Bram Stoker waits in a desolate tower to face an indescribable evil. Armed only with crucifixes, holy water, and a rifle, he prays to survive a single night, the longest of his life. Desperate to record what he has witnessed, Bram scribbles down the events that led him here...

A sickly child, Bram spent his early days bedridden in his parents' Dublin home, tended to by his caretaker, a young woman named Ellen Crone. When a string of strange deaths occur in a nearby town, Bram and his sister Matilda detect a pattern of bizarre behavior by Ellen—a mystery that deepens chillingly until Ellen vanishes suddenly from their lives. Years later, Matilda returns from studying in Paris to tell Bram the news that she has seen Ellen—and that the nightmare they've thought long ended is only beginning.
