My apologies. It seems like most of the tasks are already claimed so I just put in that may match with the book.

9) Considering Satoru seems to be quite perceptive overall, do you think he knew about Sugi’s less charitable feelings about him, both in the past and during this visit?
— I don't think so. He seems to see the best in people and is more concern to animals than in humans.
10) So far, the chapters have all been combining Satoru and Nana’s journey with Satoru’s past with several other people, as well as their backgrounds. How do you feel about this interlude (chapter 3.5) focused entirely on the man and his cat? What does it add to the story?
— I love their journey together and shows the love not just with each other but also to several other people.
11) For the first time, we got a hint of what’s going on with Satoru when the dog said “he smells like he isn’t going to make it” in chapter 3, and this came up again in chapter 3.5. So it sounds like Satoru is ill… was that your prediction for question 4?
— I think I might have predicted that.
12) Squabbles between cats and dogs were really present in these sections. So: Are you a cat person or a dog person or both (or neither)?
— Never had an experience with a pet cat so I think I'm a dog person but would love to pet a cat someday.

5) I really like reading the cat's thoughts. It can be quite funny. Do you think these are convincing cat thoughts?
— I find Nana's thoughts funny. Pretty convincing with the flow of the story.
6) In this chapter we are introduced to Yoshimine, another potential owner for our cat. What do you think of him and his backstory?
—He seemed a bit rough at first with the way he yanked Nana out of his basket, which kinda surprised me and made me think why Satoru was considering him as a potential new owner for Nana in the first place. It was nice to learn more about how their friendship developed. He will definitely take care good of Nana (and the orange cat) and be good to them both.
7) Do you think Yoshimine would have been a good owner for Nana?
— Just like what I have answered with the previous question, I think he would be a good owner to Nana and the orange cat.
8) Yoshimine has already a kitten called Chatran, and Satoru makes fun of him for naming his cat with such a cliché name. What is for you the most cliché cat name(s)?
— Not to sound corny but I think the most common name for a cat would be "Cat" lmao

1. How are you liking the way the story is written with its alternating POVs ? Is there a POV you prefer?
— This book is similar with The Art of Racing in the Rain. It's cute that it has alternating POVs but I would prefer if it was focus on one because there are times that it's confusing. (Just my opinion)
2. Through the flashbacks we get to know Satoru's personality a bit more. What do you make of him so far ? What did you think about his way of helping his friend Kosuke?
— Satoru seems like an adventurous type of person and he's just being a good friend to Kosuke.
3. Talking about Kosuke, what's up with his parents ? It seemed to me that Kosuke was genuinely convinced that his father would agree to keep the cat (Hachi). What did you think about his backstory?
— I think Kosuke's father just don't like to have a cat.
4. Why do you think Satoru can't take care of Nana anymore?
— I'm not sure. Sick? Old?

Will this work? I know this is long, but I hope this can be accepted.
Loc. 1034:
Expectations, evaluations, internal evasions
Fly out of me like puddles of blood from a wound
A fetus from the womb of a corpse in a tomb
Withered and strewn like red sheets on the bed
Of an immaculate room.
I can't breathe,
I can't win,
From this indelible position I'm in
It controls the only piece of my unfortunate soul
Left to fend for itself in this hollowed out hole
That I dug from within, like a prisoner in
An unlocked cell sitting in the deepest pits of hell
Unencumbered he's not in his sweltering spot
He could open the door 'cause he don't need a damn key
But then again,
Why would he?
Circumlocution is his revolution.

I found one, I'll post it in a bit here.

Oh I thought it's a line from a poetry. Let me look for more from the book.

Congratulations Leslie! 😊🙏

Not necessarily the whole thing if it's a long poem, but definitely the first line please, ..."
Alright.. Thanks Christina 😊

I have read The Couple Next Door, Someone We Know, and Not a Happy Family. I like any kind of thrillers so these are good books for me although most of Lapena's characters are unlikable, I like that when I am reading them, I would like them to suffer because of their poor and stupid decisions.

I just ordered the BOM from Amazon because my local library network didn't have it."
I hope you'll enjoy this Ashlee. I love Lapena's books.
