35559 Yes we can double dip, but we don't have to double dip. So if you read a book that works for a chain, you don't have to wait until the countdown phase is over. But you couldn't use it in the Safezone groups then either.

I just finished Becoming which I'm not using for the countdown phase, but it is 426 pages.

I think we should post books on the SS for the ladder, and we can move them around as we need to, in order to make the chain work.

35559 I was kind of thinking the same thing. If it was all pressure here then I would say no, but I kind of like trying to make them match up.

35559 Just the book set in New Zealand left!

Do we want to take a break while Tower Teams is going on, or do we want to travel again right away?

35559 The rules as I read them for regeneration were:

books have to have more than 250 pages
you can't include books that end in 0
and from your example we can't use books that end in 1 (unless we're reading a book over 999 pages)

So, it's not a progressive ladder, where the next book has to be longer than the book before it. It's really a chain, where the last number of the book has to match the first number of the next.

So we could build a ladder like this:

265
523
384
422
257
732
263
342

Does that make sense? I think as long as we post the page lengths of any books over 250 pages that we read, we should be able to build a chain. In order to get our max regeneration points, we'll need 150 points from our ladder, which is 4 books (50 points) + 10 books (100 points), so a 14 book chain.

35559 My internet is finally back up!

I finished two books but they were both under 250 pages so they won't help us build the ladder.

How about when we update our spreadsheet with the date read, we come on this thread and post the book, date read, and page count for any books over 250 pages that don't end in 0? Then we can build the ladder through this thread then post it on the SS.

What do you guys think?

35559 I read the first five or six really quick, then slowed down...

35559 Start it Thursday

35559 Probably Thursday but we’ll know more as we finish off the countdown stage books. I finished one and am almost done with another one

35559 I finished Ridge but don’t have internet access. I can post tomorrow or someone else can update for me.

35559 Hey Jill. Please don’t finish the Invisible Man book until we are down with all the Countdown Stage books. We have to finish those 10 books before we can finish the Safezone books.

If you have a book that works for Group 2 in Safezone you can take one of my spots.

35559 I think you post a link to your first comment in the DQ thread on the spreadsheet. Under the regeneration tab. You can take my spot because I can’t reread it.

You can use it for safe zone group 3 in our regular tab for round 4.
Sep 23, 2019 11:24AM

35559 It will get us 30 points if you do and if you comment in the DQ thread at least five times I think. My internet is down so I can’t check.

35559 Ooh I loved the book, I have it on audible and I don't think I've read it in the past six months so I'll read that one too.
