Yes, small things are okay to own and buy asap, but not such big things like a car. I don't have my own car right now and I am okay with that, our public transport is quite good and not so expensive.
Also, Aza and Daisy's parents were driving her everywhere she wanted, especially Aza.

I had the same thought toward Daisy. Her spending is just so spontaneous. I understand that after (view spoiler)

As there is no one to discuss with me I will answer DQ instead as they give my thoughts and everything in the best way.
I hope it's okay.

Chapters 1-8
1. Have you read any other books by John Green? Why did you decide to join this read?
I have, most of them. I really like his writing style, it's so quick and flowy. I have been anticipating to read it and I just got this book from the library.
2. Green has stated "“This is my first attempt to write directly about the kind of mental illness that has affected my life since childhood, so while the story is fictional, it is also quite personal." Does this add to the story for you that it comes from personal experience?
Yes and no. I would say that it's described very well and gives the reader the right feeling what it is and how it can affect someone's life. [Some books/authors can't do it good] Everyone anxiety is so different, so there is no right way to describe it also.
3. Had you heard of C.Diff before, or like me, did you go googling? ;)
I have heard of it, bc I studied microbiology and bacteria studies.
4. Thoughts on Davis and Noah? Are they telling the truth?
I like Davis, he is my favorite character in this book. Noah - he is a miserable little boy, who misses his dad and has a lot of problems. Yes, they are telling the truth.
5. How bizarre is the will situation with giving it all to the tuatara. What does this say about his relationship with his sons?
I understand why he did it, but I don't think it's fair for boys - really bad father and son relationship.
6. Eek! Double date! Have you ever been on one?
No.

I like that this read is pretty fast, like all John Green books.

Team Hermione

This week I am free and will try to read the most. Since from next week, I will have a little bit less time to read.
I think we should try to finish the first 3 books and 3 tasks for it. So we could move to the maze as fast as it's announced and then start doing extra tasks for extra points.
For right now most tasks are taken from books:
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
There are some tasks that are easier than others.

Does "wish-list" or "wishlist" count? Or it should/must be exactly the word is given?

I will be announcing again, but I don't think that will count as representing our team.
Seeker is the easiest - you have to hunt the snitch over the thread and then read one 300p book (read while playing by other players - not sure how it is 100%) [Min time is 2.5h - then the game is over and we win]
Keeper is 2nd easiest - have to read 1 book per new Quaffle choosing from 7 books.
Chaser is doing the most work - reading little (100p) books pretty quickly. or longer ones (see rules)
Beater is attacking/defending - book depends on what opposite team chasers are reading or our chaser is reading.

Also, does anyone want to play to or do announcements? I think I will be announcing, so I will cover EU timezone, but if someone from US wants, let me know? [10-15 August]

I'm really wondering what Brooke [spoilers removed]
I'm glad Ella [spoilers removed]
These boys are just drifting [spoilers removed]"
I agree about boys. They need someone who will guide them or someone who will be their supervisor as their dad doesn't do anything. I think after they mum died they all just started doing whatever comes to their mind - good and bad, but mostly bad-bad things.

I enjoyed more than I was expecting. It was very easy and fast read what is really typical of this kind of book.
