Either spell it out or set in US is good with me. I've read books that can be used for both options.

I tend to focus more on one but sometimes have others moving slower alongside. It tends to work better with a real book and a Kindle book for me

Haven't read anything by Kagawa, but have heard of her & those books.

I've also recently Killing Ways by Alex Barclay, got it through a giveaway here. It sounds like it should be good, the kinda book I'd enjoy. But I haven't warmed to the main character, and her thoughts keep popping up in italics which is bugging me. I'm considering starting another book to read alongside it....

I got a little frustrated with her in the last few chapters... didn't bug me so much until that point. I'm guessing things that happen around that point continue in some way in the next book. (Don't share!)
I'll probably continue reading though as I did really like it. A change up from my usual crime/thrillers!

Just finished it Alison. I did enjoy it - totally agree about being a quick & easy read. Have you read any of the other books in the series?

I'm about half way through The Selection now - it was one I've been interested in reading before so gave me a good excuse. Just got it on the kindle, it didn't cost much. It was nominated in the YA Fantasy section

Anyone given any thought to their books for the next detour - winners/nominees for the 2012 GR awards?

Good to hear you liked it Sallie, I'd consider reading more in the series. Although I sooooo need to read the books I actually have piled up around here!
