I finished Welcome to Glorious Tortuga but it’s labeled contemporary so I didn’t think I could swap it out for Bear. I started Bear yesterday and should finish this afternoon. I guess I need to look into the differences of literary fiction and contemporary.

Good Afternoon!
I should have Bear finished by tomorrow night. I have a seven hour drive home today from the Shakespeare Festival that I attended. So I plan to do nothing but read and relax tomorrow. 😂 I might swap it for the book I’ve been reading here. I’m almost done and then it could be checked off. I’ll update the spreadsheet tomorrow!

All good on mine too!

Torture that is worth the book points Lol. I have reread Fourth Wing 3x since I read it in January. I haven’t reread Iron Flame once. The ending made me so angry. It was comparable to the end of ACOMAF. My irrational emotional responses to decisions of fictional men.

Iron Flame won’t count either than will it?

Aww. I didn’t know that was a rule. I was rereading series after the new cover announcement. Sad day.

Finished another R2 mini book yesterday and read Catching Fire. I posted 3x in the Catching Fire chat. Do I need to do anything more in that?
I am reading another R2 mini book today, if I stay in this course I should have all my R2 mini books done by Tuesday. ☺️

I finished my reread last night before bed, because I knew I would have trouble sleeping until I did. I saw a few people comment on the pacing of this novel with the character development and the build-up to the games. This novel is so much different from the first book. The first book it felt like they sprinted to the arena and then we spent a majority of the novel in the arena.
This novel however it felt more like a slow crawl to the arena, making it painstakingly clear that this book was drawing out Katniss’ acknowledgment of the rebellion and her part in it.
I was frustrated with her at the end of book one because it seemed like she wanted things to go back to as close to they were before the games. I had to keep reminding myself of how young she is, which is why I brought that up in my first discussion post.

I have to say that I love getting to know the tributes in this book. The glimpses of their pasts and their characters is so interesting and also heartbreaking. Haymitch’s games for one, I had completely forgotten. It makes so much sense now why he drinks. Beyond it already being miserable what they go through.
Mags and Finnick - I adore them both. I wish we learned more about their pasts.
One of the greatest developments for Katniss has been her ability to communicate with others and specifically articulate her own feelings and thoughts.

I am currently wrapping up reading Chapter 10. I can’t remember the last time I read this novel, but the films are nostalgic for me. I rewatch them regularly— yes I am aware there are probably better options for comfort films. Anyways, rereading this series as part of this challenge has reminded absolutely reinforced how the book is truly always better.
I know several people have commented on how mature Katniss is and it is difficult remembering that she really is a child. Hearing her contemplate all of this pressure and be just ridden with grief and anxiety. These books are emotional and heart wrenching. I don’t think teenage me could even begin to comprehend just how much, whereas adult me during this reread is just baffled.
I know even more is to come, but it’s also been difficult being reminded of all the moments and information that wasn’t included in the adaptions.

Finished another R2 Mini Book! I updated spreadsheet. I might sign up for more books since I’m zooming this week! I won’t have The Familiar or Bear until Monday sadly. They are coming in my BOTM box.

@Ashley Yay! I’m glad it was an easy fix! The spreadsheets are honestly so impressive and organized. Kudos to you guys honestly for all that work!
Other note, I finished R2 Mini Book #2 and started #3 today!
I’m really excited for this book. It’s called “Margo’s Got Money Problems”.

@Ashley I went through both sheets and I found the one that is missing. “This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortune that I finished on June 30th. It’s marked as read and moved to the bottom of the District 6 Tracking Sheet but it isn’t listed anywhere on the District 6 Team Sheet.

No rush at all! I just wanted to comment on it since I noticed it. I know you have a lot on your plate right now!

I finished my first R2 Mini book this morning. I should finish my second one tonight or tomorrow morning.
@Ashley I believe I updated spreadsheet with all needed info. I also wanted to add that I think my total # of books is off by one on the “Dashboard” tab. This is not including the R2 mini book I finished today, because with that book too it should be 11.

Welcome Steph! ☺️

Also, those Bridgerton prequels were $2.5..."So many good picks! I am a Hazelwood stan and I loved Not in Love. It is defo her kinkiest book so far. I also loved "When the Moon Hatched". I have copies of the others but haven't gotten around to reading them.

I think it was Cass, who read [book:When the Moon Hatched|..."I LOVED it! I had heard so much about it on Tik Tok and I had reservations because sometimes those viral books are flops. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I thought it was well done and I loved the main character. She had similar vibes as Celaena Sardothien to me, so if you liked TOG.

For the series ladder, I could read the Bridgerton Series. It has 8 books and I believe some spin off novellas.

Ahhh awesome! I’ll add a few that I know I’m good to read but if you want to sub any of mine out for others no worries! 😌
