My husband loves those!!! During the entire Xmas season, he takes s couple hours in the afternoon to have his lunch and watch a film. And if he can't be away from work for that long, he pauses it and finishes it throughout the day.

35559 Thanks whoever stuck a task on for my book bayou moon. I completely forgot. 🙄

35559 Sadly, I don't think I'm going to to get my fourth book, the Glass Castle, finished. I think it's on line 40 of the SS. I can luckily use it for the next word. I'm going to try to get it done but it might be better to put a completed book in that space instead. It's in the "G" spot.

35559 I'm starting my "I" book on line 90 and have a planned "G" book on line 40, I should have both done by Friday.

What is it about UK authors that you don't like? I grew up and lived in Texas until my twenties and have lived in the UK for the last 17. I found it hard to get into the writing and even TV at first. For me it was three things; the humour, syntax and colloquial language. It took me a while to get my head around these, and syntax still irks me. I'm no grammarian but there are just some basic rules that everyone who has English as their first language should know.

How are you finding In the Unlikely Event? I had that book out from the library for years and finally got around to reading it for a challenge last year and rather enjoyed it. Didn't know that it was based around real events before I started reading it.

35559 Ugh, I'm finding it hard to get into Strange the Dreamer. I gobbled up Daughter of Smoke & Bone. Though this book is as beautifully written, there is just something that it lacks. Hopefully, it will pick.

I thought X and Why: The rules of attraction: why gender still matters was an interesting introduction to gender and sex. It doesn't answer any questions but it doesn't seek to, just present some food for thought.

35559 Just finished my first book of the challenge. I knew this challenge would get me reading. I'm so glad I joined up and my first book was a good'un. Neanderthal Seeks Human was so sweet and sexy, though light on the sex, four stars. I've started and should hopefully finish Strange the Dreamer in the next day or two. It's quite thick.

Could we consider this Task 52, "Text only on cover"?"

Yeah Ashlee...thank you for breaking the mold with our first book..."

For text only, I would go for the ones you posted even if there is a list of text only covers because then there's no debate.

That's how quidditch was for me. Terrible romance books. Just, ugh.

I don't think that it's the translation, some of the friends are just not very nice.

I love studio ghibli. We have nearly all of them. My daughter loved them in her childhood. One of the first movies my daughter saw at the cinema, not as a baby, was the Cat Returns. It began her and our love for Studio Ghibli

35559 Hi all this is my third (I think) wheel. My local libraries and bookstores are still closed, so I can only get ahold of five feet apart and I'm on tge waiting list. Hopefully it will be available soon but not too soon.

My fave genres are urban fantasy, paranormal fantasy and, well, anything except true crime. Though I do have I'll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman's Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer waiting in the wings.

I'm currently reading All the Light We Cannot See, Catch-22 and listening to Homegoing. My aim is to finish these before we start. I had vowed not to take part in any group challenges this year, but with how it's turning out, I think any plans or ideas I had for the year are out the window.

I think I will do this too, count books that I have read but not necessarily listed here. I have read, and therefore removed, nine books from my tbr that are over two years ago old, but only one was listed here. So I'm might just count all of them.
And I'll increase my listed options.
