Rachel - they're based on mythical creatures (goblins, elves, giants, merfolk, etc.)plus humans or concepts or if you find that two or more cards work really well together that would work. (wow lots of ors there haha) It's complicated at first but then once you've played a few times you catch on quick.

There are creature cards you use to attack with that also take down your opponents life or takes out their creatures so they have no defense.

@Rachel - You pretty much covered it. Plus, it's not just a boys game! There are plenty of girls that play it. You can design your own deck of cards that revolves around a universal theme. For example, I have a deck that is based on Angels. Most - if not all of the cards in my deck have to do with angels.

@Rachel - Yeah I know what you mean about that. I don't want to be so hardcore like that. I just want to have fun.

@Sashana - Magic the Gathering is a card game. It's really nerdy haha. You can check it out at magicthegathering.com :)

I didn't really know what it was until my fiancee got me into it. It's really fun actually. We only really play each other and his siblings. I've never done a tournament or anything.

Why I read: I get to exercise my mind and I enjoy stories. I love everything involved in the production of a novel not just the end result.

I'm going to try to make these different from the 5 things you may want to know about me.

1.I want to one day be able to do really awesome yoga poses.
2.I want to be a book editor and then maybe an author.
3.I can not sleep with any lights on or the television on especially if the volume is super low because then all my ears want to do is listen to it.
4.I am obsessed with Hello Kitty.
5.My favorite color is pink.
6.Since I mentioned the last two, I am the definition of a girly girl but I am also a huge nerd.
7.I love Buffy the Vampire Slayer and I own all the seasons.
8.I am on the hunt to find Jamie Fraser (from the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon in case you didn't know).
9.I have been engaged for two years and I don't know how my fiancee deals with my obsession with books.
10.Finally, I have a puppy named Lola who is my world and I used to make fun of people who obsessed about their dogs until I became one of them.

1. I am addicted to Goodreads and I would have no idea what to do with myself with out it.
2. I love Chai Tea!! Especially Chai Tea Frappucinos from Starbucks.
3. Before I was an English major I was a nursing major and then public relations major.
4. I want to travel all over Europe but mostly Scotland (to find Jamie Fraser), England, and Ireland.
5. I want to have my dream wedding topped off with a princess dress and a tiara.

Thanks!! I'm trying to have it planned out ahead so I can keep my list updated. I'm a wierdo when it comes to lists!! :) I find the more organized I am the more challenges I can participate in and complete as well as being able to read more books. Plus I'm really really trying to stick to books I own (which funny enough the books I picked are library books!).
