Team HEAVY METAL (1050 new)

35559 Hi team !!

Nice to see some familiar faces here :) And some new ones too!
Nice to meet you all.

I'm really excited about this challenge. I've been on a reading challenge break for a year, and I'm so happy to be back for a Wheel game. If I'm not mistaken it will be my 5th time participating.

I'm not really a fan of heavy metal either. To be honest I listen to all kind of music, except heavy metal 😅 Haha. Really my tastes are so eclectic I'm unable to describe it.

For reading, I read a bit of everything, but I'd say I read mostly Fantasy, Romance, Classics.

My shelf is : Challenge-Wheel8

35559 Glad I'm not the only one suffering.
I think the mods should let us know what our teams are, just to lessen that suffering a bit. Don't you think? ;)

35559 Me too !
What I hate about pre-challenge is that I get so excited about reading, but then any book I want to start I am like "oh no, I should wait for the challenge to start it. It'd give us good points".

35559 Yeaaaah ! :D
I'm finally feel ready to go back in the team challenges game. And I'm happy to hear it'll be wheely ;)

35559 You're a true Susi Hawke encyclopedia 😂

35559 I've done it like that more or less by accident so far. But I don't think there are so many connections between series in her earlier stuff, no?

35559 Okay, so... If I understand correctly, you need to read all her stuff in publication order. 😅 No going from one series to the other willy-nilly. Well noted

Anyway. Their Team A.L.P.H.A. series was my first contact. I really enjoyed that one, because o..."

The Family Novak is one I haven't read yet. Maybe next time I need something sweet ;-)
And Team A.L.P.H.A, I don't think I read it all. But I remember liking some, but not all.

35559 I looked it up online. It happened not so long ago, back in june.
But no details on what happened exactly (not that I really need to know, but just curious).
She will be missed.

Do you like Crista Crown's stuff? I have to admit that the books co-written with her weren't my favourite.

While previous books were written together, Susi Hawke sadly passed away in 2022. This book was written solely by Crista Crown

Oh no ! I had no idea. I'm so sad. Whilst not great literature, I enjoyed her books so much. 😥So so sad 😢😢

35559 I just finished Under the Greenwood Tree. It's maybe not the best Thomas Hardy book to start with, but the TBR jar picked and I had to obey.
It was alright, but it was difficult to take seriously when one of the main character is called Dick and the other Fancy.
I had to laugh out loud when Fancy said, "I like Dick". 😂

I will definitely choose easy for the next one !

That's also the way I treat challenges. If I don't have anything on my tbr that can cover the challenge it's pretty inconvenient. And when I really can't find anything I'm slightly curious about, that's when the fun stops.

35559 Yeah, some of the prompts are way too hard. I had to skip three times in a row... And I hate skipping...
Next maze I will request one with a lower difficulty.

35559 That's very lucky indeed !
