35559 Thank you guys.

I managed to finish a book today, it helped me keep my mind of things. I read Tormentor Mine by Anna Zaires. Let me tell you, it deserves to be shelved as crazy, but somehow I liked it. Weird...

35559 So my first day of the challenge is not going well. I came back from work two hours ago to learn that one of my cats had been run over by a car... I'm so mad and sad... I'm not going to be able to read much this weekend I think.. :'(

I adore this series !!! I thought it was such a unique for an Urban Fantasy

35559 Less than 12h to wait before the start of the challenge !!!

I'm trying to finish up the books I already started. I'm reading Rook by JC Andrijeski. And it's not... good.... I found it in a secondhand bookshop, along with 5 more books in the series. It sounded interesting and it was cheap. I feel like I lost a bet, lol.

What are you finishing up before the start of the challenge?

Can't wait !!!
I'm going to start of with The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow . I want to begin with a good novel, and this sounds like I'm going to love it !

What about you? Have you chosen yet?

35559 If you look at the second page of the spreadsheet you can see a list of tasks we can fulfill to gain extra points. If your book fulfills any of these tasks you should write down the numbers in that collum. For instance you could say On the Come Up fulfills task #62 because it's listed as a Young Adult book on its main page.

35559 @Chris, I agree, The Grave Witch series is a really great one. I think it's my favourite series containing Fae. They are very well depicted; mysterious, eerie and mean. Just like they ought to be. At the same time they are more nuanced than in most Urban Fantasy. You have bad guys, but also not so bad guys. And I really like the main character.

The first time I read it it was for a buddy read for either Team Tower or Wheel-a-thon, and they didn't say anything about that. So I'm sure we're fine reading them.

I was thinking about rereading The Hunger Games as well, seeing as the new book just came out, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. But I've been seeing very lukewarm reviews for that book... So now I'm not sure if I even want to try it.

I'm slowly making my way through the Kate Daniels books and I adore them. I haven't heard much about her other books though. Good to hear they are worth it. Honestly, I was planning to read them as well after finishing Kate Daniels, but now I'll make sure to make it a priority when that happens.

I really loved Circe. I was thinking about recommending it myself :)

35559 Here are three books I'd like to recommend

The Lies of Locke Lamora (Gentleman Bastard, #1) by Scott Lynch The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch - One of my all time favourite fantasy books. I love it so much. I love the writing, I love the wit and the plot which took me so much by surprise the first time I read it. I highly recommend it.

Once Upon a River by Diane Setterfield Once Upon a River by Diane Setterfield. This was just so beautifully written I'm still not over it. It is fairytale-esque and eerie. I did not know what I was getting into when I read this book, and I really loved it.

Every Heart a Doorway (Wayward Children, #1) by Seanan McGuire Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire. If you are looking for a quick read I recommend this book, and the whole series really. They are really well written and show a lot of diversity.

alright, thanks !

35559 What do they mean with the MPG genre in this challenge again? Is it just the 5-ish top shelves that you see on the book's page or does it mean that it has to be on the first page of the top shelves?
