I was pretty disturbed last year when they added it, too.
This year they added Audiobooks. Which, sounds like a good idea until you realize how different all the picks are. There's no one who will be able to make an informed decision on this.

I'm pretty convinced it's just a mix between Amazon bestsellers and publishing companies pushing books...

I know right ? They should do the award end of January at the earliest. And they should give readers more time to vote, so they can read enough to make an informed decision. But we all know these awards are just marketing. Not a real attempt to know what the reader’s favourite books are… Sadly….

Every year I put a nice copy of LOTR on my wishlist for christmas. And yet, no one wants to buy it for me... Maybe I should buy it as a gift to myself this year😉

Of course I did !
But believe it or not, I've never read it in english. It was way back when I was still a young naive teenager who only read in translation. But I had a jolly good time with Frodon Sacquet. 😂 aah, french translation....
But I should really reread them in english one day. It's on my lists of things I wanna read. Don't worry
