Kristie, I just got this one. Sounds really good. I will read your review after I finished. Seems like you liked it, but did not love it.

So, finished all my January Books and 3 from 2021. When I review a lot, suddenly books I put in from months ago will get approved. So, this morning, 1/28, I got approved for Stay Awake by Megan Goldin , which I really wanted and This Golden State by Marit Weisenberg , Pub: 3/1, which I really don’t want with all the other books. I am not on pre-approval, so can get easily backlogged with too many books.

Thanks for doing this. It really helps me look at my books and remind myself to only have 2 or 3 a month and actually read them on time! I am going to try and finish all my books from January if I can.
I got a all books done so have 25 to go. May try to get 1 more done this month. At 88% Feedback.

Great to hear. If you look on Goodreads under the Browse Button, it has a section ‘New Releases’. That I find helpful, too. Enjoy

Hi, If you are looking for New Releases, there are tons of sites to sign up for. I like Off the Shelf, BookBrowse, Penguin Random House. You can also check Amazon, it lists top new fiction, so does Apple Books if you have that. Also, PopSugar is a site to check out. On Instagram and Facebook there are also lots of book sites to join. My favorite is Book Club Favorites. Just post and ask what books people recommend. It’s a great site. At my library and bookstore, I also pick up a great pamphlet called BookPage which has lots of upcoming books. Once, you get started, you will easily find many books to read. Good Luck. Hope that helps.

Yes, I agree. I read The Wonder, too and liked this book better, but definitely both highlight how Catholicism was so harsh, especially on poor and ‘immoral’ women. You are right she did a good job showing this.

35559 I just finished another GR Book, from Historical Fiction. The Pull of the Stars by Emma Donoghue , which was about a nurse assisting women giving birth and having the Spanish Flu. I can not even imagine. It is such a close reminder of what is currently happening with Covid. I good book, unless you are squeamish. There are true descriptions of blood, vomiting, and just about every body fluid possible.

I have never read anything by Sarah waters, but have The Paying Guests, I don’t even remember how I got it. I heard that one was good, so will give it a try. Glad you liked Fingersmith, I’ve heard of it, but don’t really know what it’s about. It sounds like it is a Mystery? I definitely did not realize that. Glad you enjoyed it.

The Little Stranger I have never heard of, but sorry you are not really enjoying it. That is always frustrating. I have so many on my TBR, think I will skip this one.
Nov 18, 2021 08:56PM

35559 I just finished Anne Perry and the Murder of the Century by Peter Graham , believe it or not this was a book that dragged and was boring. Still, glad I read it b/c Anne Perry is a famous Crime Writer and appears to have no remorse for a horrific murder. This did bother me. So, I will not read her books, making my TBR a bit shorter. I have to find my list, but will add it on.
Nov 18, 2021 01:45PM

35559 I am trying to finish this one and also the Decades Challenge. 2020 and 2021 are easily done since that is what I’ve been reading. I will keep posting as I finish TBR books. Currently reading Anne Perry and the Murder of the Century.
