Chapters 1-4
1. Do you like the book so far? Why did you decide to read it? Is this a genre you normally read?
The book has indeed started on a strong note. I do not want to say if its good or bad just yet, because I have had a bad experience reading a YA Fantasy Heist previously (viz. Heist Society). It just seemed too bizarre to be even remotely possible (even in a fantasy land).. so with that in mind, I am still walking on threads to see where I land with this one. But so far, so good ! It is a strong story with a major emphasis on character development. I just hope all the characters have an identity at the end and do not end up create chaos !
I decided to read it because of all the buzz its creating and well, thought I'd get some extra points for my team at TT4. :P
I do read Young-Adult, I do occasionally trespass the Fantasy world.. but this is hardcore grim stuff. Hope I don't flip out. LOL !
2. During the parley in chapter two, Kaz tells rival gang member Geels: "A secret's not like coin. It doesn't keep its value in spending." What does Kaz mean by this? Do you agree with him?
I totally agree with him. The dark-side of me believes that today's world runs more on secrets than on money. Rather it is the secrets that run the money-flow. So, having your secret stashed safely somewhere is definitely considered more valuable in today's trade. The value of a coin is only in spending it, whereas the value of a secret is in keeping it.. you can blackmail someone forever as long as you don't reveal it. In the power game of today's world, secrets hold the chair.
3. Inez seems to have led a very interesting life so far. What do you think her relationship with Kaz is? Does she have romantic feelings towards him? Is Inez someone you would trust? Is Kaz trustworthy?
As of now, the relation between Kaz and Inej is very business-like. He paid for her freedom, she pays him back by being his guardian-spy. I would not be surprised if they end up together (which most likely they will, given the YA angle of the book), but I for one, would want them to be business-partners, per say. They have mutual respect and appreciation which may work wonders in this plan of theirs (but I have a feeling that will be tested very soon!).
As yet, I dont trust any of them. I like Kaz, coz even though he is conniving and cunning.. he is a boy of his word and extremely confident in his abilities. Inej, on the other hand, is committed and she honors it. I appreciate these qualities about both of them.
4. If you could have a magical talent like the Grisha, what would you want your talent to be? Which category of Grisha types (listed in post 102) do you think would be most helpful to us in the real world?
Well, the obvious answer is the healer.. because the world today needs more healers.
5. Have you read any of Leigh Bardugo's other books? If so, would you recommend reading her Grisha trilogy before reading Six of Crows?
I havent read any of her books. As weird as it may sound, I hadnt even heard about Leigh Bardugo until recently and not for The Grisha Trilogy but for this book. So, if this progresses well, I will certainly give the books a try.

EDIT: I have already started reading Three to Get Deadly for the new goal, if anyone finishes their book that fits in before that, lets use that.

Damn ! I did not catch that.
Great eye, Sonia !

T knows this, but I am doing a triumvirate of similar series, set in three different eras.
1. Kinsey Millhone - Sue Grafton
Set in the 1980s.
Finished : 2

2. Women's Murder Club - James Patterson
Set in present day
Finished : 3

3. In Death - J.D. Robb
Set in 2058
Finished : 3

So, Kinsey Millhone, Lindsay Boxer and Eve Dallas are the three gals who help me solve crimes across different eras and they are all super-cool.
As a bonus, I have another sweet girl who pops in and helps solve crimes in her own inimitable way.
Stephanie Plum - Janet Evanovich.
Finished : 2

Will get to 3 each by the end of this month.. and then continue with the cycle.
I try not to binge-read them, coz I dont want to lose interest in the story-line at all.. I love these series to death !! ALL of them.
But ofcourse, where my heart is, is with these dudes.
Cut & Run - Abigail Roux/Madeleine Urban
Finished : 3

!! New Goal !!
Read a book that is in the "Favorite books from my childhood" Listopia List (https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/2...)

*mock shock*
*sighs*
So, I am the only innocent soul left in this group now.
*sighs again*
*looks forlorn towards the horizon*

Read a book with the name of the tarot card "Temperance" in the text or title [Ashley Marie]
Read a book that won or was nominated in the 2011 Goodread Choice Awards [Mary]
Read a book with a body part in the title [Sonia]
Read a book with green text on the cover [Steven]
Read a book where the title includes an ampersand ( an & ) [Apoorv]

If anyone is reading the Cut & Run series, I wont snatch that golden opportunity from them.. if not, I can read the next on the THIRDS series.
EDIT: Just finished a 'Book with a Q Title' for any such future painful goal.

Letters ? Are you really looking at the color of the letters there ? I cant seem to move my eyes from the right hand side.

You can always use www.shelfari.com if you ever need the names of characters in a certain book. It is a good resource and tends to have the character details for most books, from what I have seen.
(Sorry if the link doesn't take you to the right place.. I am not in my computer at this moment.)

My laptop conked on me.. I am not sure if I'd be able to edit the spreadsheet till I get it fixed, it seems.
Sonia, T : I will try working on it using my iPad but I am not sure how easy that would be.
*looks at my lappie with sad eyes*
*sighs*
*goes back to Sophie Kinsella*
