I double checked it, I have the correct edition mass market paperback, publication date May 2002. Size of a door stop, it can be read or used as a weapon
new computer has been purchased. credit card is crying and needs a drink. I should have it hooked up by tomorrow night.
Could one of the captains please mark Empire of Silence as complete for me. I am still having computer issues, looks like I am going shopping after work tonight.
That is my biggest issue with a LGBT fiction. my store has no actual place for it. I have a teen com in looking for some and it is just dumped everywhere. I would love it if we had a space where I can say "there it is and these are really good!" but higher up dont think there is enough interest. (insert eyeroll here)

I don't think my co-workers and I are idiots, we just have multiple books of the same genre with similar covers that are all coming out within the same quarter. We also read the new releases so we can answer questions. If the story lines are that much similar I usually write them off.

Since Space Opera is one of my least favorite genres - Gide..."I know it is a current trend in YA. One author does it and then everyone jumps on the bandwagon. Makes it a real pain at the book store.
I am also reading The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet we will need to compare notes when we are all finished with it

Happy Thanksgiving to you! My little hobbit hole is in BC. Warm hugs to you trapped by the snow.
Jessi wrote: "Also, there is a tab on the spreadsheet for week 2! Please use that tab to make things easy! @wren and @M I’ve moved your books from week 1 that weren’t finished to week 2 for you!"Ok but I finished that book earlier this morning, around 10 am west coast time. If that does't work you can put down as completed on the sheet for this week
Jessi wrote: "@M, when did you start reading The Harp of Kings? It's on your shelf as started on Oct 4th. Books can't be used unless they were started after the start date of the challenge. Asking a favor. I finished 1Q84 but am out of the house and cannot update the sheet from my phone. Could one of the captains please do it. Thank you.
Alysa wrote: "@MCan you tell us what was enraging to you in Dune?
I think we need to know for the justification...
And also cuz we just want to know :D"
Enrage me. The Harkonnan family in general. The Berne Gesseret sisterhood with it's attempts to create the supreme being by inbreeding families. “The spice must flow” The spice is the most important substance in the universe, it is basically a drug. Oh, and attempted genocide of the Fremen people.
Somewhat of a bonus to being home sick. I can read as much as I want to. Book #2 finished and added to sheet
Alysa wrote: "@M — did you already read Gideon the Ninth? You don’t have any start/finish dates on it but you do have 5 stars 🙂 Was it that good?"
Yes it was. One day read for me. I got it as an ARC so i can't read it for the challenge

I already have it down for a bingo. I have read it before and there are quite a few things that annoy me.
Well, I just looked over the Bad Book recs and I saw at least a dozen books I love. If we need to read them for a mini challenge I will have no problem.
