27. I feel for Rob. Rachel has basically dismissed him over the last 28 years - most of his adolescent and adult life - because of her grief for Janie. Thoughts?

Yes, it's a double loss for Rob. His sister gets murdered, but at the same time he loses his mother in a time when he will need her the most.

28. Will Rachel confront Connor?
I secretly hope so, will give the story some more excitement :)

29. Do you think Tess and Cecilia will become friends?
In a weird way, yes. I think Cecilia has really changed now that she knows of her husband's secret and is more human, not so totally perfect.

30. So JP's mum knows what he did because of the rosary beads. I tried to put myself in that situation as it is true you would do ANYTHING for your kids. I'm still not sure I could turn a blind eye to that though.
I don't know. I find this very difficult. I would like to say that I wouldn't let that one slide, but on the other hand seeing my child ruin their life at such a young age when I can prevent it. I don't know. Difficult one!

31. So Felicity had been an "integral" part of date night. That threesome was just not healthy was it
Oh this is just such a difficult enmeshed relationship. I find both sides a bit weird though. It feels a bit like Big Love (that tv series of the Mormon family of a man with 3 wives and all the kids living in 3 adjoining houses). It really feels like polygamy to me.

32. Cecilia seems to be breaking apart. Can she continue to keep JPs lie?
She is really starting to crack, isn't she. I think she'll actually become more confident out of this and stand up against JP.

33. I'm worried about how Connor told Tess his mother lied about his alibi the day Janie died. I hope he doesn't get arrested!
Nah, she knows he didn't do it. I think it will be all good.

34. Do you like these flashbacks to Janie's last day?
They are a bit distracting at times and hold up the story a bit, but do give more flesh to the bones of the story.

I actually really love that for once there are many Aussie terms instead of American ones :). Finally one that I can understand all the colloquialisms. I can actually hear the Aussie accent when I read this book. It's a great pick!

I saw those connections of intertwined relationships, but I was already further in the book and not sure if it was part of ch 1-3.

I had a different question,now do the non-Aussies find the Australian themes and all? I live in Australia and am loving the familiarity :)

I didn't think about the jar vs letter resemblance. Absolutely brilliant!!!!

Loving this book so far! I'm up to chapter 9 :)

1. What are your initial impressions? Do you like the writing style?
I wasn't sure at first, but I was intrigued. It jumped a bit too much for me, but I've caught on now.
