I've finally finished
by Kathleen E Woodiwiss. I really like what I've read by this author, but the books are so dense, it takes forever to finish them. I will read more though.
This counts for both
In Like a Lion and
Captains' Challenges.

Just finished
by Maya Banks. 2nd in the KGI series. I really like this series, so I think I'll bump up the rest on my TBR.
Should count for both
In Like a Lion and the
Captains' ChallengeI should finish
by Kathleen Woodiwiss this weekend. It's a good read but very dense - small print on big pages takes a while to read.
I also have at least 4 mystery/suspense novels planned for March, so yay for the monthly challenge!

@~Melissa~ - those covers for
don't really work, but
would!
Don't forget you can use alternative covers!
@Leslie - sure that cover works. It's clearly just one person
Vi wrote: "Um, OK so the Stephie Plum series is not Romance? I though chick-lit-y romance?"I personally wouldn't shelve it as romance, but I can see why others do. It's more of a mystery with a bit of romance mixed in.

And 1 more for the romance challenge -
. Apparently 206 people shelved this as romance.
Michelle wrote: "So Alley, what was the final decision on the Phantom of the opera cover?"I'll say no to drawn people on the cover, but yes to alternative covers - if you can find one with an actual person on the cover, it'll be fine.
Unless I missed a conversation about alternative cover use that decided against it.

I finished
- Sherrilyn Kenyon for the monthly. Next romances should be
- Kathleen Woodiwiss and the next in the Dark-Hunter series
.

@Leslie - I keep hearing commercials for Nandy's Candy on the radio. I've been thinking of going there for Valentine's Day candy.
Vi wrote: "What about Silhouettes?"I don't see why not - the single person is clear in the 2nd one.
I'm not sure. I'll wait to see how Leslie feels about it. Also, be sure to let us know what you think about it if you read it - it's been on my kindle for ages.
Marguerite wrote: "So is 2 or more women or men ok?
Is a man and a woman together ok?"You're looking for books with just 1 person on the cover - no couples or groups.

I live in Clinton - right outside of Jackson. No tornados here - just really bad thunderstorms. I'm already sick of all the rain.

It's like a big cinnamon roll cake with purple, green and yellow tinted frosting. It usually has a little trinket or something in it and its supposed to be lucky if you get the piece with it.
I so want one with cream cheese filling. That sounds amazing.

I live in MS. Theoretically I could drive a couple hours and pick up an authentic king cake, but I don't want one that badly.

Sure, wings will be ok.
All this talk about king cake makes me want one. Might have to make do with one from a grocery store bakery.
Leslie wrote: "Melissa - I haven't had a Paczki but I will be having King Cake!!
As to the covers - it sounds from what Alley said in her post that she would accept these. I would say yes to the Feehan book and ..."I agree. Clear, in-focus heads count. Other random body parts don't - like no just legs or arms on the cover.
Vi wrote: "OK so I have a few questions for the next mini:
1. Can the cover have a girl or a boy (as in YA or should it adult)?
2. Can there be a partial show or should the person be shown fully?
3. Can ther..."1. Sure.
2. It doesn't have to be head-to-toe, but it should include at least partial head/face and torso. Like
would work but
would not. Use your own judgment as to how much is enough.
3. Yes as long as the animal isn't a shifter involved with the person on the cover.

Yay! These mini-challenges are fun! Thanks for coming up with these, captains.
I have 1 more book to add for the Romance challenge.
A Gentle Feuding - Johanna Lindsey
It was the Large Type edition since it was the only copy the library had, so it was a pretty quick read. This is the second book by Johanna Lindsey I've read. I almost passed on reading more by her since the first one I read (
) was full of bad. This one was better, but still not something I'd want to read again.
Up next is
and

I've finished another M book (not a romance!) -
Death of a Poison Pen by MC Beaton. It's a super fun cozy mystery series. Spoilerish if you haven't made it far into the series -
(view spoiler)[ I do wish they'd let Hamish find a woman and settle down - and not have it be Priscilla. I've never liked her. Elspeth is a much better choice for him. (hide spoiler)]I might read
Murder on the Links by Agatha Christie, but I doubt I'll have it finished before the challenge deadline. If it's anything like the last Poirot book, it'll take me a couple days to finish.["br"]>["br"]>

Finished 2 more Romance and M books today!
My Favorite Mistake - Chelsea M Cameron &
Midsummer Magic - Catherine Coulter
My Favorite Mistake was good - gave it 4 stars. High for that type of book(for me anyway), but it sucked me right in and I couldn't put it down.
Midsummer Magic was your typical historical romance. I've read better and I've read worse.
Going to start on another M book -
Death of a Poison Pen - MC Beaton - not a romance though. I like to alternate between genres - keeps me from getting burned out on romances.

So far for the Romance challenge, I've finished
Killbox - Ann Aguirre &
Wicked Lovely - Melissa Marr (also counts for the M challenge)
I really do love the Sirantha Jax series. I really recommend it to anyone who likes a bit of romance in their sci-fi.
Wicked Lovely was just meh. I doubt I'll read anymore of this series unless I need something Fae for a challenge.
About to start
.

These challenges are fun. I'll be reading
Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr
&
Midsummer Magic by Catherine Coulter
for the mini-challenge.
I know Midsummer Magic is romance - not sure about Wicked Lovely.
