The MC just inherited the farm from an uncle, it was neglected. He's building it up but the farm owed property taxes. He's trying to make money to save the farm and pay these taxes, one of the ways is by selling animal food that he buys discounted, not feed. I don't remember him mentioning crops. He rescues animals like dogs, cats, rodents. Nothing is mentioned about loans. I don't know if they plan to do more with the farm, that's probably in the next books. I have no idea now if it qualifies to be honest, but I can try to look for another farm book if you prefer.
