Agree, looks like a burnt orange to me - at a push tineye may be registering it as a type of brown, but to me it looks orange for sure.

35559 That seems like a good option Annalisa.

35559 Shall we use the supply drop as a double Defense? I’m wondering if that may be useful later on?

35559 Well Cat mentioned they’d like a book a book for protection, with at least one Defense and one other reason (or two defense reasons if we had one).

I finished Vampires of El Norte, which has a Defense reason as well as two other resource options. It was also used for the mini-challenge.

If we include it in a supply drop it doesn’t mean we can no longer use it, right?

Edit: actually the book has two Defence reasons because it has blue on the cover too.

35559 Also, do we know what we are doing with the resource allocation we are giving books, or is that something we are waiting to find out?

35559 Do we need to give supply drop back? I must admit I don’t really understand what the purpose of the supply drops are and what we are trying to achieve with them.

Oops, I’ve added my two books now.

35559 I just received notification that my book is being delivered today, so I can definitely read for an author with a diacritic task.

You’re making me glad that I decided against reading that BOM!

Wonderful, thanks 😀

This means some of the longer books I am getting through may apply as well.

35559 I think so, because they are different kinds of desserts. There’s muffins, cakes, slices, a pie of some sort - all sweet, but different kinds of sweet 🙂

35559 I have a question for the Cornucopia challenge, can we use books that finish in that two week period, even if we started them a couple of days before? I’ll be starting a new book later today or tomorrow but it will take me probably a week or two to finish. It will be a shame if I can’t use it.

I was looking at some of the harder ones to see what I might have that fits. I’m waiting for a book to be delivered where the author has a diacritic Vampires of El Norte by Isabel Cañas, however, I can’t guarantee when it will arrive so if someone else also has an option for that one, I can work on a different Cornucopia task.

Edit: just realised you can use each option up to 5 times. Hopefully the book arrives in time!

35559 A mini vacation sounds fun! We did similar last weekend with our 8-year old. Sometimes it’s just nice to get out of town for a couple of days.

35559 Day 5

20. Cade goes to each of the other travellers and has final words with them. Do you think he learned any new information about his travellers? Or did he learn something about himself? oh, I don’t really remember what was said, so I can’t really answer this one.

21. The journey to The Seven Brothers is full of many challenges. Did this journey remind you of any other quest you've read? it sort of reminds me a bit of Kings of the Wyld, mainly because it was a band of mercenaries who go on an impossible mission together.

22. We now find out about the Pandorals, how they were using The Seven Brothers as vessels. Quite interesting how this was accomplished. Did this surprise you how they were formed ? What did you think of why they came to acquire the red soil? yes, the brothers being vessels was a surprise to me, as was the way that the Pandoras entered as bugs. For the red soil, I thought it was because they could grow plants in it that come from their world.

23. It was determined that Cade be the one to use the apparatus. What attunement do you think he chose? I’m wondering if it is one that hasn’t been mentioned yet. In the acknowledgements the author said he was only going to refer to attunements that were mentioned in this book, which leads me to believe there are to come in the next book.

24. What was your overall impression of this story? What was your favorite part of the story? Will you read the next in the series or try one of the authors other series? It was a bit too much of a light fantasy series for me, the world building wasn’t great, the plot wasn’t particularly interesting and the characters weren’t well fleshed out. However, it was a fun read. I like my fantasies a bit meatier and I didn’t enjoy it enough to keep on with the series.

35559 Agree Aiswrya, The Malevolent Seven got better and ended up being quite a fun read. I probably didn’t enjoy it enough to keep going with the series though, as I have way to many other fantasy series that I’ve got to get through.

Do Captains need to see the DQ posts? If so they are all here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Edit: I’ve just seen you need to add links to the DQs in the spreadsheets. I’ve never been able to link in the spreadsheets on my iPad for some reason, so I may need some help from the capstains on that.
