I only remember 25 and 37 degrees Celsius from labs, so 33 must feel really nice if the humidity isn't too high yet.
Does anyone have plans this weeke..."
The heat index is 41 though. In that weather, you don't even need to do anything to start sweating. Dehydration and heat strokes are growing popular.
I'm going to be watching the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie tomorrow. I'm excited, though I sadly didn't watch the first one. Yet. I hope I can remedy that in the future.

I use bookbub and Kindle too. There's so many free books there. I also download some books and listen to audiobooks from this SMS called VK. Though I guess it's kind of illegal.

For the question, I'd rather with losing my hearing. Being blindfolded feels much scarier than muffling my ears.
And for the earlier one, where you would want to go backpacking, I would go with Europe. I live in a tropical country, and the hot weather all year round is killing me, especially in the summer.

I'm a student, though I'm currently on vacation with school starting by the end of May. This is my first time joining this challenge, so I'm a bit excited. Though I haven't been in the mood to read, which is annoying the heck out of me. I read most fictional genres so I'm ok with reading almost anything, but I like adventurous or action-filled books, which is why I lean more on fantasy, sci-fi, and thriller.
Here's my shelf (I'm not sure if it's right. Please do check).

Questions and Comments for April 6 : Changeling - Unfinished Symphony
25. Why do you think the name Elizabeth means so differently to her from her nickname, Liesl?
26. "Think you your beating heart the greatest gift you could give? No, mortal, your heartbeat is the least and last." What are your opinions on this line?
27. How do you imagine the Wedding Sonata will continue? Do you think Liesl will ever finish the Wedding Sonata at all?
28. Is the changeling to be trusted, after all the warnings we have been given against doing so? And why would the changeling try to help her?
29. Love and hope, both very powerful emotions and able to change a person, both positively and negatively. Which emotion is more powerful for you?
30. Given the circumstances, do you think Liesl and the Goblin King have a chance to be happy together, not just for a short time?

14. What are your thoughts about the Goblin King? Do you find him a seductive lover or villain?
I feel bad for him at this point as he didn't choose this life for himself. He just wanted to help his people. He became what he is right now through all of his experiences. He became seductive because he needed to be to charm the women that he wanted to take as his brides. It somehow became a learned skill.
15. Liesl is passionate about music. Can you relate to her? Other than books, what hobbies, interests are you most passionate about?
Well, I do play the violin a little bit and I have a broad interest in the different genres of music so I guess a teeny bit. I'm not interested in making a career out of music though.
16. What do you think about the Underground? Did the author bring this world to life for you?
Somehow. I've seen glimpses of it that did give it character, but we weren't shown much of it aside from the ball, the rooms, and the teleporting. What do goblins do aside from work?
17. I found Twig and Thistle interesting and humorous at times. What did you think?
Twig, yes, when she gave Liesl information when she and Kathe were escaping. But their antics are a little funny.
18. Were you surprised by Liesl's sister's condition? Yet she was happy and did not realize anything was wrong. Do you see this as a kindness on the Goblin King's part or cruel?
Not really. She already started degrading after she ate the peach. it just got worse as time passed. It is a bit cruel, but in some way it's also a kindness. If she was aware of that fact, she might have gone hysterical and the happy illusion would have been broken.
19. Do you think Liesl chose to stay with the Goblin King for love or to protect others?
To protect others, definitely. She didn't want the entire world to suffer winter all year long, especially her family. Maybe that's the love she was talking about.
20. After we saw the condition her sister was in living in the Underground, what do you think will happen to Liesl?
I think it was from the peach since she started turning sickly after she took a bite of it.

6. He plays well, your brother.
This is how the Goblin King chooses to address her first. Seems fit, since music is the thing that makes her soul shine and made him interested in her. Don't you agree?
Yes, I do. And I think he's partially trying to score some brownie points with her without being too obvious.
7. The best game in the world. One where I take something you love and hide it. If you don't come find it, it's mine to keep
If Liesl is the real target, why take her sister instead? To make her realize how wrong she chose? To make her regret not to answer his calling? Or just because it's a game and he can't help it?
I think that it's partly because he wants some excitement in his boring life and partly because he can't. Liesl wasn't enchanted and had some resistance against goblin glamour so he wouldn't be able to make her his bride. He needed the back-up.
8. None of us understand what you've been talking about. Who, my dear, is Käthe?
Does Liesl really thing she can outplay the Goblin King? Or is she that naive? Or that trustful?
She's very confident in herself, that she'll be able to beat him. I think that because she was previously able to resist his charms, she'll be able to beat him.
9. You may prefer the pretty lie to the ugly truth
When I first read this line, I thought she was about to know some ugly truth about the people she loved. But, I guess that was too easy. Instead he gave her the life her heart desired all those years. Would the illusion hold, if she chose to forget about her sister? Or would she lose everything? Were you surprised to realize Constance also wished to have the Goblin King's attention?
The illusion would probably continue on, but I think that in the end, she wouldn't be happy with that kind of life and would regret not fighting against it. I was surprised at that, but when I think about it, it shouldn't be since she knows awfully a lot about the Goblin King.
10. I felt a bit sad with Joseph's departure... because it was like a dream being broken. Their last play together was heartbreaking, like the illusion caused her younger brother not to be the same. Am I wrong?
I don't think that the illusion made Josef change all that much. It might have because the Goblin King might have done more that just erasing Kathe from the family's memories. But I'm guessing it's because he's met Francois and clicked so so well with him that he forgot all his fears. And they did separate for 3 whole days. In that span of time, his main company was Francois and with that special bond they somehow made with each other... Well, a minute can already break a relationship apart. I wonder how many stupid thoughts Antonius and Francois could have planted in his brain.
11. I would have to sacrifice my music
My brain made me think of the scene from the Little Mermaid where Ariel loses her voice.. I was expecting her to lose her ability to create music, I guess setting her compositions on fire and play till the world no longer is also works. What do you thing?
When I read that, I wasn't sure how that is possible because the Goblin King is not God. I don't think he has the ability to take that ability from her also because that's what he liked about her when she was younger.
12. All the men looked like Hans; all the women looked like Käthe
That... sounds creepy. I'm still confused about the meaning behind. The whole ball seems like something from a fairy tale.. from the bad version of fairies. The ones that steal children on their sleep and made bargains humans cannot possible win, just because they are bored. And the food was... gross... I also thought humans could not consume fae food or drink to be able to return to their world?
I was also not sure about that. It was just weird, and why did it have to be the both of them? Why not other people like Josef or even the Goblin King? About the food thing, maybe the author just chose to exclude it seeing as that fact won't be able to explain how any mortal in the Underground can survive for long.
13. I do not know what to call him, but I cry out his name.
My fingers reach, but he is gone.
What do you think it will happen next? How close are they to the full moon? What will be the next battle?
Maybe pretty close? He's already trying to distract them from going further so they must have been going in the right direction, at least.

1. When I saw the cover of this book I immediately bought it, even before reading what it was about. What made you decide to join this book of the month?
I've seen this book many times in other groups here, and since it's a BOM here, I decided to pick it up.
2. I loved the introduction, it set the tone nicely for the book. What did you think?
It definitely did. Though I was a bit confused on the setting. I thought it was set in the present.
3. This book has been compared to the movie Labyrinth. Have you seen this movie? If so what did you think of it does the book compare?
Nope.
4. I like that the author throws in some German and it makes it easier for me to feel the Bavarian setting. What do you think of the style?
It did make it easier to feel it and it also give authenticity to the setting, that it's not just some place that the author picked randomly.
5. Do you have a favorite among the characters?
I like Liesl because she sacrificed a lot for her family, even if they doesn't seem to appreciate her that much. So far she's one of my favorite characters, along with the Goblin King. He's kinda mysterious and I'm pretty sure that there's more to him (as it always is).
